I guess this is one for the future, but I would like to see mush more granularity in policies. Currently a lot of the options are either on or off, so either everyone can migrate or no-one can. Either all Aliens can vote or only the main species can,same with allowing aliens to be leaders.

I would like much finer control, so you can blanket enable / disable but also enable/disable on a per species basis; along with things like allowing migration within a sector but not across sectors.

Depending on how/what ethos my empire is I may want to disallow newly integrated species from having full rights initially, so maybe then can vote with everyone but not become leaders or migrate.

We have seen indications that policy granularity comes from research, governments, or ethe, rather than being inherent to the selections. More interesting options would be great, but they may already exist and merely be locked behind various things.

Well, I'm a slow learner (it pains to admit you're not the sharpest knife in the drawer...), so binary edicts, at least at my initial playthroughs, will be amazing to learn how to fly.
After that, maybe more options will be welcome, yes.

But then again, maybe what you're asking for is already in the game, but on later technologies.
