I like the idea of having a unified human naming employed by stuff like the UN start, but for the sake of roleplaying I think more name variety would be pretty sweet.
The Galactic Empire from legend of the Galactic Heroes or the Imperium of Men from W40k are just a few of the custom nations I can imagine would profit from a more diverse name selection.
