More interactions between characters should result in a casus belli.

For example, it should be possible to declare war on my rival who insulted my honor in some way. Or, as has been suggested many other times, war should be an option to attempt to free imprisoned family members. Or if another ruler murdered someone in my family, I should be able to invade his lands and attempt to capture him out of revenge. Lots of scenarios makes sense here. This doesn't mean that you are required to declare war over any of these slights, but you should have the option.

I mean, it feels like going to war to free imprisoned family members is kind of a bad idea as your war target might just execute them all then.

I think it would provide a very interesting situation. Yes they could kill your family or threaten to kill your family, but then you are obviously going to show no mercy if you defeat them in the war. Tough decision to make on either side.

I mean, then the casus belli would get invalidated by the game's logic so...

Yeah, I would love character interactions and relations to have the ability semi-randomly effect many more parts of the game.
Anything to make it feel more like you are playing a person first and foremost and not playing some paradox 4x mechanic driven game.

CK is a little too mechanic driven and too little relationship driven. For example, if you are playing some Swedish queen, CK gives you very little motivation to quit, move to Rome to have Italian nun girlfriends.
So unrealistic.
