1. The first thing I would like to see is the ability to tell a colonial nation to keep its gold and not send a treasure fleet, which would give the overlord a boost of opinion with the colonial nation based on the amount of gold the colonial nation produces.
2. I would like to be able to force my colonial nations to "protect the motherland" which means that when I go to war my colonial nations will send their forces to protect me, even if I am in the north pole, which will give a penalty of relations with the overlord.
3. To go along with the idea i just finished suggesting, i would like to be able to choose the idea groups my colonies get. So if i want to utilize my colony for protection i would like to give them quantity or quality ideas, if there is a colony that is located in a dangerous location i might want them to have defensive ideas, if a colony has a lot of gold i might want them to have economic ideas, and if i want my colony to actually colonize i might wanna get them exploration ideas.
4. Lastly i would like to be able to set a value that i would call "military presence" which would determine how many units a colony maintains, and there would be a value for both land and naval units. All colonies default values would mean that they create armies and navies as they see fit, if land military presence is set to low then that CN (colonial nation) will build less troops, if land military presence is set to high then that CN will maintain max land force limit at all times and will do what it can to increase that force limit. If the naval military presence is set to low then that CN will create less cogs and build light ships in their place, if naval military presence is set to high, then that CN will build fewer light ships and will try to build heavy ships and more cogs.

Please tell me what you guys think and add ideas of your own
