Okay I just downloaded the new 1.09 patch and it STILL doesn't take. I did EVERYTHING you guys have told me to do, its saved to a compressed file and everything thing like that too. Also, just thinking that I could be doing something wrong but, wouldn't you have to have the info for the new patch on the disc for it to work on the game? Maybe that's my problem. Please Help More!! thank you

Can you explain exactly what you're doing? So you've installed the game, and you've downloaded the patch. Unzip the patch and run it, agree to the licence, and make sure it's installing into the right directory when prompted for a directory(the default for the patch, might be different than where you've actually installed the game).

What might well be happening is that the patch is looking in the wrong directory for your game, so check the patch is installing to the right path.

What might help is if you call up the properties for an EU2 shortcut (start menu or desktop) and copy the path from the "link target" box, then paste that into the path box for the patch installer.

The only other problem that I can think of is if you have downloaded a diferent language patch than the language of the game (i.e a Spanish patch for a German game) which might make it not work properly.

So I have to put it in the EU2 file. DUHHH I should have known that, my bad, I'll try that again. Also, exactly what I'm doing is downloading it from Window #3 in the options part on the Paradox sight. Then I'm downloading it and placing it into a separate file, like it's own file. So I guess I would have to put it into the EU2 file. Duh alright well thanks. If you see anything else about it that could help, please share. I will get back to you if it doesnt work.

Simply downloading the patch file and placing it somewhere does precisely nothing. You have to actually execute the patch so the files contained in it get extracted and copied over the old versions of them. Place the file in the EU2 dir or anywhere then double-click on it.
