I was wondering if in the new upcoming Hearts of Iron IV, if we will be seeing more detail going into installation strikes and how nukes are obtained. Currently in HOI3, "installation strikes" on such targets as V2 test sites & nuclear reactors have no effect whatsoever. The current system works that you build either a V2 test site or a nuclear reactor gaining the "practical" leading to the development of such weapons. The worst offender is probably nuclear weapons, being that the rate that you accumulate nukes are based on the level of technology you have aquired with no counter measure to thwart research or production of such. In HOI3 it is possibile to bomb factories that would thwart the production of tanks/v2 rockets being built, or general supplies reaching the troops, etc. Unlike nukes themselves, are totally unaffected once the research has been obtained despite nukes relying on the harvesting of heavy water or uranium obtained from nuclear reactors.
What i would like to see is the rate of nuclear weapons being based on the number/level of operational nuclear reactors in play, also allowing them to become a worthy strategic place to bomb or sabotage tied to perhaps a geographical location, or to a lesser extent the building of nukes to take up a huge section of IC to build, unlike HOI3 which requires nothing at all to build, then time based on your level of research.
An example i would give on the dependency of such facilites to obtain the heavy water would be the Norweigian raid, that blew up a heavy water center, then sunk a ferry later transporting the refined heavy water to germany for production.

Also heading back to V2 test centers, an operation was put together to thwart the impact of the V2, although since in HOI3 the construction of V2 are tied to your IC, this isn't a huge gameplay issue unlike the nuclear bomb building, apart from the fact the V2 rocket test centers are pretty useless to bomb still, and does nothing to reduce research when continuing the further development of more advance rockets. Just fount it werid you are given the option to bomb such places which have no effect and therefore are better off targetting the factories. Unlike the Radar, that offers both practical and an advantage in fog of war, bombing it meant the enemy did not benefit from the bonus when engaging in air combat aswell has being able to stop them from looking into your territory, which usually helped when attempting to amass a surprised breakthrough in there frontline.
