We already have the American culture in the Thirteen Colonies area. But what about adding more new cultures like "Mexican", "Peruvian", "Brazilian", or "Rioplatean" (from Rio de la Plata)??
What about a colonial culture for each General region/culture group combination? So you have Canada/Eastern-America/Louisiana/Alaska/(maybe)California? as one region, Mexico/Columbia/Caribbean/California? (if not in group 1) as a second and Peru/Brazil/La Plata in the third. Each culture group has a colonial culture for each of these regions. Portuguese and Dutch would be special and have separate colonial cultures from the rest of the culture group?
If you are the UK, for example, and you are colonising a province in the Americas, there should be a small chance that the colony's culture be Scottish or any other accepted culture outside of your primary culture.
