I have traffic Jams and unfortunately Self made transportation traffic jams as well :(

Have two heavily used routes that come every 15 minutes, both the route's yards, and a transfer stop to a busy subway, all in one block, and THEN you will see a bus traffic jam just as bad as any number of cars can do.

Who wouldn't want to go from the outskirts of town to the centre? Truth is (at least, that's my opinion) cities are huge but with very few people in them.

It's about performance. If you want a game that simulates and tracks every cim in the game then may I suggest you play the new SimCity with it's tiny maps. As it is some players with only 3 gb of RAM have trouble running CIM2. With the size of the maps it'd have massive performance problems if all the cims were simulated and tracked.

The game only needs a sample size (which CIM2 does) so you can gather data on their destinations.

My system has 12 gb of RAM, I run it on ultra with no performance hits at all. CIM1 however did have a performance hit when panning around because of the amount of cims. If everyone had decent computers (ie over >8 gb RAM) then games could be better. I suggest you learn to except that simulations games are like this because it's not going to change any time soon.

Times are changing with how cheap ram is getting. During the holidays almost every vendor was giving away 16GB of RAM for $100.(I've never had to worry about having enough RAM since, as you can imagine) Mid-High end systems, laptops especially, are coming with atleast 8 standard.

My Macbook Pro runs on High with some medium settings here and there on my 1080p monitor just fine.

True, however the economics of creating a game like CIM for high-end system don't make much sense considering that it would target a fair number of casual gamers. A gamer that plays lots of AAA games (I do so I have a high-end system) usually has a better system so that he/she can get the best experience out of a game. I'm certainly not saying there shouldn't be more cims in the city, I'm just trying to make some people understand why the population sample not as many as there could be. If I'm wrong about this, then I'd be glad to have CO correct me.

The Devs will soon release a patch that lets you decide on this.

And if this is correct then the topic is moot anyhow.
