Morale Drops Immediately Upon Entering Battle

I'm checking the morale before and during battles, and every time I enter a battle as Great Britain against France, my morale drops from ~5 to ~2 at the moment of contact with the enemy. It's not happening with any other nation in this run, but recently every time I fight a historically powerful nation it happens. Is it a new part of the Lucky Nations feature or something else? WAD or bug?

It doesnt acutually drop, but the bar is 100% morale and they have way more of it than tou. So your morale bar gets reduced to reflect how much you have compared to their 100% morale.

I checked the actual numbers, it's actually dropping, not just a difference in base morale.

Can you get screenshots and post them? I also suspect its a display thing, but it's possible that either a bug or their morale damage is hitting your morale that hard in the opening seconds of the fight.

Screenshots, and maybe a save game, would help.

You can check your max morale by hovering the morale, compare to the max enemy morale, if its the same then they are you hitting you hard on the fire exchange, make sure you are up to date on miltech and have some bonuses to match the enemies. Morale drops as your units die.

If they got more thats why you "lose" morale as you enter, if you have less morale (eg half) you need to stack discipline or youll get wiped

If they have 8 morale and you have 4 morale at start, your bar will automatically drop to half.
As long as you inflict more than double the morale damage, you're in the clear. I've melted 100k stacks with 40k prussian troops no problem.
