Hi, guys --

Did any one ever figure out exactly how morale works? What exactly is "morale damage"? What exactly do "offensive morale" and "defensive morale" mean? And how do these interact with casualties?

Yours,
RP

Hi, GeneralWVPM --

Well, kind of ... but not exactly! I've looked at the wiki entry before, it was one of the motivations for my using the word "exactly".

Is this how morale works?

1: Regiments have morale from a variety of sources.
2: A regiment will break in battle when it's morale hits zero.
3: An army will retreat from battle when all its regiments have morale of zero.
4: Morale is reduced in combat per the formula laid out in the wiki.
5: Casualties have no influence on morale.

Is that right? Like, Round Top at Gettysburg was just about morale, the casualties didn't matter?

Yours,
RP
