I just haven't seen much mention of the monorail in Mass Transit. Is that reserved for a future Dev Diary?

I only ask because I have a game with a self-imposed challenge of never building underground for any reason, making subways and underground train tracks off-limits. Instead I have a tram system separate from the actual roadways. Seems like a monorail might be an even more efficient solution?

Not been focused on monorail yet but they have show and hovered over the menu items some times.
The next vlog should focus on monorail also, openly thought last time ;)

It seems the 4 lane road stops have their entry/exits at the sidewalks.
One of the big downsides of trams in my eyes - they are in the middle of the road and people have to walk to the next junction.
But probably more important than that is the travel speed and capacity.
Honestly I have not watched for that numbers.

Just thinking out loud.
Release is getting closer....

Oh, trams are by no means perfect. Their capacity does leave something to be desired. But you can build tram tracks separate from the road, the sole exception being the tram depot requires the first tile to be a tram/road intersection. I've built my city to have a tram network completely separate from the road network, and services smaller areas, mainly between adjacent residential and commercial areas, while any larger move is done by train. So ideally a CIM can walk to a tram, tram to train, train to tram in another district, and walk to destination. It seems popular and the stations are almost always overflowing. But that gets us back to the capacity argument! That, and the only other downside I really see is that I can't always get the route to go where I want. Even though I've set up junctions and alternate routes for some trams to avoid stations they aren't stopping at, the routes still have them drive past and I don't think there's anything I can do to change it.
