I put Leon in LAP tag (La Plata) and Flanders went in FLA (Flanders tag).

Question: What about the central and south African countries?
I guess the north-african countries and countries as Ethiopia and the wester-african countries could be included if someone can find anything about them at least...
Kongo, Zimbabwe, Zulu and xhosa won`t get into interactions as none will explore....

Luckly, Tripolitania was annexed by the Almohads 30 years earlier. It should be fine.

Gen. Wolfe,

I think the nation tags look ok, but I have begun to notice small problems. Aileach could not exist on EU2's map, also there is no tag for Ireland's Munster nation? I believe you and I need to work more closely on this as we should try our best to weed out any historical discrepencies.

Thanks and enjoy your holiday,

Judas,

By this time, Normandy was no longer independent in any sense. It had practically become a part of whomever was controlling it at the time

How can that be if William the Conquerer came from Normandy around the start of our scenario, and then conquered England? I might be wrong, but could you double check for me. I thought that Normandy was a vassel of the Franks, but did things on their own like conquests of endland etc.

Thanks,

I'll field this one.

1. Good point. What tag could Munster have?
2. Aileach would be Ulster province until the English invasion of that area (1205). Afterwards, the province would be Ulster.

Check this map for information about Ireland at 1150.

However, on a map of 13th century that I have Normady is still shown a duchy.

The book I have says:

1144-1151: owned by Anjou (which means that the country in Maine province should be Anjou)
1151-1204: owned by England (when Anjou became a part of England)
1204-today: owned by France (when Anjou was conquered by Philippe IV)

well, in theory "countries" like bourbonais, auvergne, provence and burgundy were part of france in 1419...
So "ownership" could also mean that the duchy was vassal of England, was in personal union with England etc.
But well, my knowledge of that part of Europe isn`t that great. I can only see that my map shows it as a duchy... (btw so does the internet-map for 1100 & 1200 you showed in your earlier post, though that map also fucks up poland so how reliable it is....)

All the resources I have say Normandie was under the personal control of the King of England from 1066-1087, 1100-1135, 1151-1204, and 1417-c. 1450; the Count of Anjou from 1144-1151; and the King of France from 1204-1417 and c.1450-1789. It was only independent from 911-1066, June-Nov. 1120, and 1135-1144.

If our scenario is beginning in 1150 and Normandy is free of England in 1150, noted above, than Normandy should be a starting nation, right?

I'm sorry, I made a mistake!

Judas,

Just ignore my past posts involving Normandy, I was getting my dates confused. However, I still think they should have a tag, but should be controlled by England in the beginning, and england should have the option to release them if they chose, what do you think?
