Mongolian Children

The portraits for Mongolian children looks like paintings. Is this intentional or a bug?

I originally thought it was a problem with my DLC, but since the adults look fine, I'm stumped.

They do look very out of the place with the animated/lifelike (generally speaking) nature of the other portraits. Ideally they should be replaced with something else, as although they do look great they are not in the CK II style at all.

They said they have updated the Mongol Faces DLC and I've got these children portraits, too. So it is intentional.

Yes, really weird. These ones are nice, but the old ones fit the game better.

I had this too, though I wasn't going to report it yet. It seems somehow the original Mongol children portraits got mixed up with concept art or something.

However, I will give kudos to whoever for updating the Mongol portraits so Mongol-looking Christians and Muslims actually wear appropriate clothing for their culture instead of looking like steppe warriors.
