Mongolia converting to Buddhism?

I'm wondering what the chances are of Mongolia converting to Buddhism at the end of the 16th century. I play Russia quite often and many times when I get to Mongolia they're already Buddhist, meaning I can't annex them without BB. I think this makes the game quite unrealistic for Russia, because they often can't expand to the pacific. Or am I just very unlucky and is the chance of Mongolia converting to Buddhism low?

Hmm, I have seen them being pagan by 1600, so the conversion doesn't always happen. But I gather it's very likely that they will convert in 1578?

The event has two options, therefore there is a 5% that they stay pagan.

I see. So doesn't this make it way too hard for Russia (esp. if it's AI) too reach the pacific?

Russia has other problems that make hard for her to reach Mongolia "in time", not to mention Pacific.

Mongolia being buddhist is mainly a "problem" for a player, not for AI. AI doesn't really know how to annex Pagans, in general, and will need several wars.

Maybe it could be improved with current map.
