Really nice scenario, thanks for your effort!

When I played 1205, I have found that that scenario crashes if province 439 (Toledo) changes owner. Problem is that this province is assigned in scenario setup to both CAS and U03 (Almohads).

In 1205 scenario I also noticed that almost al catholic crusader states are switching their religion to orthodox due to new religions setup.
Maybe if add line like:
changedreligion = { year = 1419 month = january day = 0 }
to each such country it would prevent religion changing for AI.
Thanks for reporting the bugs, Moctezuma :)

Well, I am writing one about the Baltic Tribes, if you are interested. It seems to be going well so far, game play wise.

Under the new religious set up the Religious screen is seriously fluffed.

Here is my semi repaired religions.(png)bmp (Semi repaired because I know you guys dont like the alternate Catholic, Orthodox, and Pagan icons CatLord compiled and thats what I use.)

religionsMES.png

Though I have a query about where one defines the colour of the religion. For Example normally Protestantism is blue etc.

I suppose if you guys knew you would have altered the colours in game huh?

EDIT:
Also I dont mean to be really picky and annoying her but could you guys start running your event descriptions/titles through spell/grammar checker?
I ask because in many of the events the grammar and spelling is - well - horrible.
I know its a small thing to gripe about - and its not hugely important - but sometimes the details such as that can make or break a game/mod. Now obviously MES isnt going to be broken; but many such as myself find it highly annoying when reading events you have to spend a lot of time deciphering it...
Many of the larger event descriptions i dont even read - I simply skip by them - which isnt fair because you guys have put a lot of hard work into this and one of the joys of EU2 is because it immerses you in history and you learn as you play.

Two questions:
1) Have you considered about raising the tax value of all provinces but in return lower the tax efficiency for all religions (this might seem to do no good, but the low supply limit kind of annoys me, but perhaps that's the most historical option (they did for the IFU and I think it worked fine there)).

2) I've noticed since quite early that all starting armies are really small (about 5k for Byzantines and so on). This might be the historical start, but it doesn't work that well since you build everything in thousands... couldn't it work if you just say that 1 medieval soldier represents 5 or 10 EU2 soldiers?

EDIT2: What I meant was that you can't build small armies, and by that say that 30000 EU2 soldiers represents 3000 medieval soldiers...

Perhaps I'm just silly... :D

EDIT:
@Hajji Giray I: Grrr... betrayed by my top fan... j/k ;)

I ask because in many of the events the grammar and spelling is - well - horrible.

Unfortunately, it's always the same problem : we are not native-english speakers, and no one in the project speaks english commonly... so for grammar and - in my case at least ! - conjugation, it's not easy to write long descriptions. But personnaly I prefer long, even bad written descriptions (anybody can "translate") rather than a short and unclear one.

Be careful, another remark and the mod will continue in spanish ! :D

Maybe someone on the forums who speaks English as a first language will serve as "translator" for such things?

I have discovered the following bugs when playing as the Roman Empire.

Shortly after game start I was attacked in Constantinople. However the text message was that I was being attacked by Poland in Podlasia (or so was the message). IOW, there is a mixup in IDs somewhere. This continued after I DoWed Rum. I was told that I was being attacked by Poland in Podlasia in Konya and in Sivas. The troops there started fighting imaginary troops (only one sprite, no enemy).

In the event where one can pay 200 to gain shields on Apulia and Naples you instead get a shield on Messina and the waters just south of Apulia (!!!).

I will keep you posted on other bugs I find during the game by editing this post.

I am also playing the Roman Empire and discovered another thing. After a while I got an event saying that I have lost my CB shields on Judea, Lebanon and some other provinces in the Holy Land because I hadn’t made any conquests there. However I didn’t have any shields from the beginning. Perhaps this is an event that has become obsolete after changes made to the scenario?

The Venetians seem to be really die-hard enemies and refuse to settle for peace on any conditions. The Turks (Seljuk Rums) might need some additional strength though since they were pretty easy to take out in the opening. However my current weak position after the fourth crusade (rampant inflation of 32 % after that, puh!) might suggest the opposite. The Roman Empire is not an easy country to play since my techs are on stone age level compared to other nations. Nevertheless I think that is only fair and I am really enjoying the game.

That's not possible, the event states correctly prov. IDs 394 and 395, which correspond to Apulia and Messina.

Yeah I just checked that event, it's the correct provinces. However, I must ask: why is it that it makes sense to give them cores on half of Sicily and half of Naples?

You can say the same for most of the EUII period as well, especially regarding garrisons in forts... but the key is to just ignore the numbers, it doesn't matter much anyway...

They had been roman provinces from Justinian's time (6th century) until just some years before the beginning of the scenario, so the Romans still feel they have rights over those lands... and in real-life Manuel Comnenos tried to reconquer those lands.

We've had already a couple of grammar checkers, but I guess it is not a very fun job to do, so they kind of retired pretty early. Wanna help at this point? ;)

Yes but why not Sicily and Messina, instead of Messina and Apulia? I don't get it...

Because the last roman dominions in southern Italy were Messina and Apulia, not Messina and Sicilia ;) Sicilia was soon lost to arabs, but the Messina part (smaller than the Eu2 prov, though) was kept under nominal roman power during many years, and in fact many population there was of greek culture and language (we're even thinking in making that province greek in 1150). The same applies for the southernmost lands of Italy.

Well, I guess I MAY have been wrong and it was Apulia and Messina the event would give shields on. And in that case the shield on Apulia is just placed in the middle of the water ... so I was just wrong.
But I really don't understand why Naples isn't given as shield instead of Messina. After all Naples (the city) was under Byzantine control for a very long time as well (as one can see when playing CK).

This isnt a MES problem.
This is an EU2 bug... it is where EU2 has the placement of the Core Shield... Have no idea WHY its in the Gulf of Taranto but it is...
It doesnt mean you dont have a core on Apulia - you - its just misplaced. :D

Ill start work on the translating as long as you all promise to love me forever! :D
