Okay so I might just be not understanding the game but occasionally when I am not building anything I will randomly lose 1 million credits. Not really sure why it is happening. Anyone else having random loss of funds?

Teraforming costs? Ship repair costs? Fleet upkeep costs?

I havent been able to load up SOTS2 yet because my rig is dead but in SOTS1 you had a preaty easy empire management system to find out whats eating money. It also helped me figure out that without a trade network your basicly screwed in the long run.

The way its working at the moment is when you say purchase a ship, it tells you the cost and the turns until produced. The credits aren't removed until its actually produced, which is causing all kinds of confusion and making it near impossible to make a budget. Same applies to all other purchase (station modules, etc.).

They have said something about changing it to a gradual thing, which I assume to mean if it says 100k over 10 turns, then you lose 10k a turn for 10 turns. But thats just speculation on my part as they didn't specify.

also if a realy big sum is missing it is possible that you have build a prototype of a new ship.
prototype cost is much higher than the later regular ship cost.

Hence when I said I am not building anything. I have nothing in the Queue to build anything or improve anything and suddenly I lose a large sum of credits. It seems as though someone is pirating my ships or doing something that the game is not telling me about. I understand the game mechanics around building ships and modules on stations also around terraforming. The problem is teraforming is a constant that goes down with each tern provided you don't start colonizing a new world. What I am talking about is when you are constantly getting 250-300k a turn and without your doing anything your next turn costs you around 1.5million credits.

If this is commerce raiding from another empire then I should at least get a warning that hey someone pirated a bunch of stuff and it has cost our empire x amount. Instead there is no indication of why I am losing he money I am losing.

Did you happen to have an invoice and then cancel it? Some have reported that game will continue to build even a cancelled invoice. Gotta say that so far I've never seen the game suddenly just arbitrarily remove funds from my savings before.

You playing as Suul'Ka/Zuul by any chance?

Currently there is automated behaviour that will automatically tell colonies to produce rip bore ships and add them to the fleet if a fleet is given a move order to a system it doesn't have a node path to.

First time I played Suul'Ka/Zuul I managed to get myself into 500k debt by turn 10 because the game decided to produce 2 rip bore ships for my starter colony and construction fleet that I had given move orders to.

I think I might know what it is. If anyone else can test this to confirm or deny that would be great so. I built one mining station just to see if they were working properly, some of my civilians had already built a few, the mining station cost me a huge amount of credits. It was something between 750,000 and 1,000,000 credits. Ever since then it seems every time a civilian builds a Mining Station I am paying for it instead of them. That is the only thing I can correlate to the random loss of money.

I never had that problem. Civilian built "stuff" isnt charged to the player. The only thing that you pay is the stimulus... now that huge amount that you say goes missing could be Corruption - maybe you changed the research slider but forgot to adjust the security in order to reduce corruption to zero. Depending on the size of you're empire and the amount of credits that you're allocating to research, corruption could go easilly over one million.

Nope I didn't change anything and my corruption is non-existent. Civilian Morale is 100. This only happened after I built a mining station. The mining stations civilians were building previous definitely weren't charging but once I built a mining station it seems that every one built is now charged to me as though I chose to build it which I am not. Of course there could be a different explanation but I have yet to come up with it.
