There isn't a huge penalty, its just that I forgot and brought troops directly from Iceland to occupied area and then battle.

I might have problems to be there at 19:30 CET. It's beyond me.

But I hope I'll make it in time. Anyways, I shouldn't be there later than at 20:30 CET.

I wonder how that happened. Did USA or SU coup them? Anyway, given the late stage of the game, I'm against a change.

Andrew

I don't mind really, if Germany can take over the dows for me. And on the pro side- for some strange reason I have nearly all Japanese ministers available. If changing government would send me back to the no-named one, that would hurt badly.

Ok, I won't do anything then. I have seen in sp games as well that Japan never goes fascist, and that they are democratic at the beginning of 39 scenario. If they get any elections they rarely chooses to go right.

Great, its like 7 minutes to game and I was just firing HOI up but some urgent stuff came up, seems I wont make it today :(
I forgive you :)

Was another sweet session tonight, lots of fightin' in France/Low Countries, some in Italy, Yugoslavia and finally the pacific as well.

The french front saw some Glorious American Breakthroughs, but Patton felt sorry for Manstein and withdrew his Divine Forces to Eindhoven, where he had a better dinner.
The Great America does have some issues with able men, and have found it neccesary to use old men and in some cases, old women at the frontlines.

In Italy the 1st. American Holiday regiment (used by American soldiers as a reloading area for the real wars) have broken through to Parma in search of that ham and also an opportunity to bathe in the Adriatic.

Meanwhile, the 2nd. American Holiday Regiment have been preparing new offices in the Pacific, and also cleaning the water for some pirates and their ships. Some of the frontliners in Holland were so excited they went there right away, which was OK since America did not face any real threat in Europe. Americas only concern is teh Red Menace, showing itself in eastern Europe, pushing the Germans back.

Communiqué from the Peoples Commisariate of War, april 1943 to july 1943:
Capitalist conspiracy attempts to rob the Soviet Union of its grandiose victory!
The State Agency for Security has uncovered an extensive conspiracy among the capitalist nations against the Soviet Union.
In a manner most typical for the outdated capitalist-imperialist systems, those nations have turned to means of low morale in their envy of the superior society of soviet republics. The successfull leadership of the beloved comerade Stalin is unrivaled all over the world, but the capitalist and fascist nations refuse to admit this simple fact.
Instead, these cavemen of the past, have plotted against the heroic efforts of the Red Army, Navy and Airforce by striking a deal with their enemy. This secret deal made it possible for the evil japanese emperor to turn all his forces against the Soviet Union while neglecting the defence of every other part of the japanese occupation zone. The president of the United States, who otherwise declared hi intention to make no seperate peace obviously agreed with the japanese emperor to stop the US advance on Japan so the japanese could advance on the Soviet Union.

This infamous crime against the world revolution cost the temporary loss of control of Vladivostok. Comerade Stalin has, however promised his faithfull patriots that that everything the japanese took will soon be retaken and more to it. The japanese airforce was allready virtually destroyed and comerade Stalin has now ordered a trebling of the secret projects to retaliate on the evil japanese.

In Europe, the Soviet Union was unstopable and even let the capitalist nations take a share of the Balkans - a gesture which those nations have now repayed by betraying comerade Stalin!

The Peoples Commisariate for War have declared their undivided support for the glorius leadership of Comerade Stalin and celebrates his victories by trebling or quadrupling the mobilisation for war. Hence forward every donkey, camel and reindeer is now eligible for drafting into the Red Army. Those who refuse will reveal themselves as part of the capitalist-fascist-imperialist plot!
-----------------
Well, another good session, I think. Very interesting and well-played game this. Let me thank you all at this time for the excellent play and the way the game is handeled (seperate thanks to vissarion for good hosting). It is kind of uncommon to find a MP this good and civil.

This session again proved what I learned in the previous sessions, but even more so: the germans are almost untouchable in direct confrontation. The cases where I manage to do them real damage are very rare (except, perhaps in airbattles, where the Luftwaffe took some serious casualties). Example: I send 3 t-34 into Prezmysl (forested). There they are later attacked by 7 german infantry. Outnumbered like this they could not ofc. expect to win, but should enjoy some defensive bonus (ia. from digging in and terrain), but to my surprise, the fully organised t-34s are defeated by the german infantry without the infatry taking as much as 1 caualty and without losing any organisation at all!. There was no arisupport in this case so that couldn't be the question. I hope part of the explanation is AT brigades, otherwise this superiority is really scaring.

I know the SU starts at a technological disadvantage and that for a number of years the german economy is in fact larger than the SU. OTOH Germany has to invest much in warproduction and I haven't exactly neglected research.

But the 'approach of the thousand ants' still won out in the end. Andrews superior way of rushing reinforcements to threatened sectors saved a number of provinces for some time, but in the end it was impossible for him to keep playing wack-a-mole with the front extending all the way to the Adriatic in a zig-zag curve. A sideeffect of his blocking action, however, was that the allies managed to land in Yugoslavia to secure Sarajevo just after the SU had been beaten back (did the allies fight for Sarajevo at all?). This means that neither side will be able to annex Yugoslavia, but OTOH the allies cannot liberate it either.

In the east a similar, though somewhat smaller tech defiecency showed. I must admit that I hadn't fully realised that Japan was deploying something like 66% of it's army against me. I had expected it to spend more at defending against the allies, but I guess that the japanese fleet losses, which came to my attention rather late, might explain why Japan now stakes everything on a continental battle.

The largest battle was in Jinxi with something like 25 divisions on both sides. SU was clearly defeated despite defensive advantage and ia. mountaintroops. The bulk of the army retreated north, which left rather little to defend Vladivostok, which was defeated shortly after.

Japan made no advance in central Siberia despite several attempts. The SU infiltrating attack was, however, repulsed, but only after it had captured the majority of the japanese (technologically superior) airforce on the ground. This destroyed around 12 squadrons and made the emperor go absolutely nuts.

Oh yeah, and wrt who is the biggest threat, here are the facts of the score:
Allies: 477, axis: 281, Comintern: 221.
