Wonder it special monarchs events will still be lost after reload or will they be stored somewhere so you can take full advantage of Elisabeth's or Louis XIV's reign?

Good point - hope so b/c I'm tired of everytime I have to stop a game in mid monarch, goto the monarch file, find my current monarch, jot down any special events he gets and then have to compute when these events are to happen and THEN remember to activate them via the "event XX" cheat...

doin the 8 or so "waves of obscurism" during Charles I reign manually was like forcing someone to perform their own vassectomy... w/a chainsaw... and then makin em jog home afterward...

(some hyperbole may have been injured in making of this post)

This really should have been fixed in EU 1. This is probably the one thing that, if it shows up in EU 2, would cause me to seriously question the QA effort for this game... This is certainly something that I hope our erstwhile beta-testers will test and make sure works correctly now!

Pessimistically I bet it doesn't. They ought to be tied to the year rather than the monarch I suppose.

Tying it to the year might be a fix for it, but not very realistic if your ace #1 monarch dies a few years into his/her reign and a regency takes over. Although I guess a regency could be just as effective it doesn't seem right since the premature death of a monarch should cause problems and missing out on events shold be one of those problems.

Even though there are probably a lot of examples of stability on the premature death of a monarch, I think that particular event should raise the revolt risk 1% or 2% to reflect the disruption/unrest/uncertainty surrounding such a happening.

Wouldn't it make more sense to model a loss of stability with a loss of stability? :D

I see your point - my bad - I chose the wrong word/phrase.

I think the -1 stability hit could certainly be an appropriate penalty but was thinking more along the lines of the restlessness of nobles trying to get their candidate on the throne than a general civil unrest. The stability hit would cause lost revenue. I was thinking with a 1% or 2% revolt risk (maybe in only a few provinces - or just the capital) for, say, six months or a year, some noble would cause a ruckus over the succession.

As Montgomery Burns would say "Exxxxxxxcellent!"

Those of us who are only able to play an hour or two at at time will now get all the goodies in store for a monarch.

Great-is it a fix that can be retrofitted to the original EU in a patch though, or are we stuck until EU2 comes out?
