Well,how can we be sure about any pictures of monarchs and leaders who lived back then.What if Henry VIII was extremely ugly piece of fat but payed to artists to make him look better.I think some sort of random pic generator could be nice for those monarchs whose outlook we dont know.
Even a few portraits, say of the larger european nations, would improve the flavour
Well, at least there should be a few real monarch pictures and leave the rest to modders.
im thinking if specific portraits are implemented for monarchs (still not sure whether they will be random or not, nothing was said to confirm either or..), some will be unigue and otherwise a set of random portraits might be good. maybe a set for each "tech group". so there isnt a picture of redhead freckled princess for some Mali empress for example. and of course the modding will begin and we'll have more and more with every patch.

Since you can now kill monarchs on the battlefield there's likely random monarchs too. :wacko:

nah no monarch pictures. ill rather have different city pictures and more soldiers models than monarch faces

Seeing the screenshots so far, and some of them show the name of the king and his advisors.
The advisors have pictures (Leonardo da Vinci f.e.) but the king hasn't.
So I doubt we will have the portraits of kings, but maybe they haven't come around in making them.

I don't doubt that it's possible to find pics of most monarchs, but the "proper" research would be extremely time consuming. Think of all the monarchs in the game, and they'll have to look for pics of every single one of them. Then look at what you win from this; a little aesthetics and more realism.Old Joe said:
