1. Modular structures
I saw this in some form suggested before, but not in this comprising way...

I would like to see modular objects and a totally new system of choosing objects from the menu. In this system, you should be able to choose the components first to make any kind of object more flexible.

Example No. 1:
You choose "road". Now, the game asks you to choose the number of lanes in positive direction and the number of lanes in negative direction, the type of road (byroad/high street/avenue/motorway), props (no/gras/trees), special properties (bus lanes/bicycle track/parking lane/tram tracks/...).
Following this, it should be possible to create as an example an avenue with 2 lanes in one direction and 3 in the other one, tram tracks in the middle but trees on the sides, as well as a bicycle track.

Example No. 2 (inspired from the new mass transit DLC):
You choose "transport hub". Now, the game asks you to choose the number of train platforms/metro platforms/monorail platforms/... the hub should have besides the option of a taxi rank/...

Example No. 3:
Please, make it possible to choose the type of road, you would like to have in front of buildings such as the cargo terminal, cruise terminal or the airport.

This makes the use of different structures more efficient, because you do not necessarily need exactly this certain type of road or hub building you can choose from, but something customised.

2. Car ferries
I'm very glad, that you bring ferries to Cities Skylines for the transport of people. Building on this, wouldn't it be practical to have car ferries as well (eg. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/5a/SednaLiten.JPG ) which would be handled as "normal" roads from the game, such that bin lorries or police cars can use them as well?

This would make the game more realistic, because you do not really want to connect smaller isles with long bridges to the mainland, where ferries could do the job.

3. Back to the roots
With the new DLC Mass Transit coming up, you do the right step going back to the roots of Cities in Motion. Would it be that difficult to implement the old timetable scheduler for public transport? That way you could easily manage to have a bus arriving at a stop in the right moment for passengers change routes or the mode of transport without waiting, because you scheduled another vehicle for just a few seconds later.

I would really appreciate any feedback or elaboration on this. Thanks for your attention!

I'd like some more flexibility, but I'm having a hard time envisioning a clean UI for this. (I'm not a UI designer, and maybe not a visionary either, so take what you will from that.)

Example No. 3:
Please, make it possible to choose the type of road, you would like to have in front of buildings such as the cargo terminal, cruise terminal or the airport.

Agreed. Or at the very least, make it a one way road going the correct way.

Agreed. I want car ferries too, and the pictured one is perfect. Though I kind of envision a huge line of vehicles waiting for it and then despawning.

As someone who never played CIM/CIM2, I have no interest in this. It sounds tedious to me.
If I had played CIM, my opinion might be different. I have seen a few posts asking for this functionality, so there is some interest in it.
As long as it is optional, it's fine by me.
"Vehicle Unbunching" is what I really want.

You might be right that this could do the job! In CIM you had the option to change the timetable but the game always set a default one if you haven't created one (→ optional).
I agree with you that vehicle unbunching might be a better approach for players who aren't that interested in scheduling/public transport management.

There are so many requests for niche areas of interest to be developed/included in the game that it would be neither financially viable or otherwise advantageous to implement them "in game". C.Skylines is designed to appeal to as wide a range of gamers as possible and of course to make money and pay the bills- investing in design/development time needs to have a sizeable return!

I agree with that.

Your comment followed two "unbunching" comments, and if you were referring to that, then I don't agree to that being "niche". It's almost a bug. It is a poor implementation, and it is annoying. There is little anyone can do about it (aside from a mod). It does happen in the real world, but they do have strategies to deal with it. The game should deal with it and space them out. I doubt there is anyone who sees transit vehicle bunching and thinks "I'm glad it does that."

As for "schedules", I'm not against it as an option, and I have seen a number of requests, so there is some demand, though I would categorize that as "niche", as I doubt the demand is anywhere above "tiny" relative to the vast majority of players.
