Mods show up, but do not fucntion

I have subscribed to two mods on the steam workshop, the flatmap mod and the autonym empire mod. Both have shown up in the in my mod folder, in the game launcher, and in the content menu, where they are both listed as active.

But neither mod functions at all. Names of countries are unchanged and the map remains the standard one, both in the main menu and when a game is actually started. The checksum remains unchanged as well, despite the flatmap mod saying it changes the checksum.

A converted CK2 game mod functions perfectly.

What am I doing wrong?

Well that's weird. Did you put them in Steam/EU4/mod/ directory, or Documents/EU4/mod/ ? Do other people using those mods say anything in the comments section on Steamworks? Or is it just you having this issue?

They went automatically to steam/EU4/mod/. I made a userdir.txt to have save games go to the Steam directory for EU4, but I don't think that's the issue since the CK2 import went there and works fine. I checked the comments for the mods in the Steam workshop, but I didn't see anyone saying they had any trouble with either.

I had the same issue with a small mod I tried to make as well, but at the time I thought it was something I had screwed up.

Well that's even weirder, because they SHOULD go to Documents/EU4/mod/ - that's where mine are, and Steam put them there automatically. Try moving them there.

Manually moving them there did nothing, but deleting my userdir.txt and reinstalling them did the trick. I guess I'll just have to live with some Documents clutter.
