Mods don't work?

Hey there. As you can read in the title my game doesn't work with mods. This is the Case since a few days. To specialize my problem: My game works perfectly normal. Nur when i try to Launch it with mods, it keeps starting the vanilla version. A few days ago all my mods looked weird, they hadn't a Profile pic and the game said "this mod isn't in your library, please subscribe the mod or deleted it from the playset". So ii took a look at the Workshop and the mods i tried to launch, but they were subbed. I tried to launch the game: it launched in vanilla version. After that i unsubscribed and resubscribed the mods. Didn't Work, it still started in vanilla. After that i reinstalled the game and guess what: i started with mods but it launched the vanilla version.

Does anybody know how i can fix this?

Not sure if this is the same problem, but in this thread https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/hoi4-getting-list-of-mods-failed.1434241/ a guy came up with a solution:

I managed to fix it by creating an empty custom mod. Right after doing it the whole mod list appeared.

Other than that i suggest you ask in the tech support forum.

Does anybody know how i can fix this?

Have you updated your game and launcher to the latest versions ?
Have you set up a mod group or "playset" with mods enabled and the playset selected ?


The Launcher Status will have a yellow or red indicator if you Launcher is outdated.
The mod playsets or groups are more complicated to set up but worth it.
I have different groups set up for different game set ups.


When you add a new playset or edit an existing,you can add and remove individual mods. One mod can be in multiple playsets.

Delete your user folder.
(Backup stuff that you wanna keep of course, like savegames and selfmade mods)
