Amazing!! A "politically incorrect thread" that hasnt been locked!
Ok, as long as it's open, I'll throw my 2 cents in. I agree with the intent of the censorship laws but unfortunatley, it is having the opposite effect. I remember back a few years ago when return to castle wolfenstein came out and one of it's features was in MP, one could play the "bad guys, the nazis". The uproar was overwhelming. But now, after years of WWII games of the same genre, I dont even blink at playing the germans on the omaha beach map of MOHAA or battlefield 1942. All of the "watering down" of the nazi's, soviets and all the other unpleasant empires of the 40's has led people to think "heck, these guys weren't so bad...hey, they even have cool rifles" and it's all forgotten. History thats forgotten is doomed to be repeated in one form or another before long. We are lucky to live in an era of (relative) peace but through most of history, terrible wars, armies looting and sacking cities and conquest was the norm.
There are times when I think that tossing in some "bad events" would restore the shock factor and make people sit back and wonder why exactly they are playing a game as nazi germany and trying to get them to win WWII.
