Modifying The Scenario End Date

I chose the "1936" scenario in the editor, and after creating a scenarios.bak folder for the original scenarios, I chose December, 1999 as the end date for the modified 1936 campaign game. When I opened the 1936 campaign game, it said in the opening screen that the scenario would end in November 1954. Is this the "generic" end date displayed iwhen scenarios are extended beyond the "normal" time frame?

I believe it is just displaying that. It should end as yuo stated in 1999.

I would be careful. I have tried to do the same and I have found that you can change the month that the game will start but not the year. I don't know if the end year can change but would appreciate whether anyone has played through and can tell us if the year changed.
