This mod sounds great, i've always thought a modern day setting would be a lot of fun for HOI. I'll definitely be keeping up on it, but i have a few questions.
Do you have a story planed out? Despite the hard work the MDS team put into the mod, i couldn't agree with the politicaly based story line where it seemed as if the US was the de facto 'bad guy'. I think it would be much more immersive if everything was taken for a neutral point of view instead of bringing current politics 'was country A invading country B right or wrong?' into the equation. I think looking at the situation from the perspective of the player-nation instead of the developer's point of view would be a much better approach.
How will game balance playout? In MDS the EU and US had an extreme advantage in terms of economic ability, and despite using a 'other place' friendly PPP measure, it was still very one-sided in terms of battle. Russia would often be utterly over-run quickly by the EU who was 12 times bigger, and i felt that really hurt the games 'struggle factor' it would be historically accurate to give the EU and US a GDP of 30 trillion, and the SCO a GDP of 6 trillion- but thats not very fun when the AI is utterly overwhelmed.
I think a way to fix this, would be to expand SCO membership and perhaps cause a recession to hit NATO. The price of oil could also keep going up, leading SCO to alien itself with a middle eastern alliance, this might lead to cheap oil for SCO-boosting it's econamy while further empowering opfor. This would not only create a 2nd front for the EU based NATO members, but empower Russia to become a major player and not the 'weak link' it became in MDS.
Do you need any help? I'm not much of a moder, but i can research things such as events, leaders, statistics, and military compositions.
