V4 alliance is important, but if Hungary got a chance to snatch some land from Slovakia they would go for it. The government would advocate against this, but the people, and the military would make sure, to take on the offer.
I'm 100% sure, that if the government of Hungary would decline the offer, than paramilitary forces would cross the border, to engage the Slovakian army and after that Slovakia will surely declare war.
Well I think if Ukraine wins in war with Russia it should also have options what demands it should ask for example soft conditions: return of Crimea and Donbass along with reparations, middle demands: also demand return of Kuban Region, Belgorodkaya oblast, Voronezh and Kurks. From what I heard they were ukrainian territories which were given to Soviet Russia instead Russian transfer Crimea to Ukraine. And of course harsh condtions: Demand alll territories which belonged to Kievskaya Rus.
Considering that Poland will make deal with Russia in partion of Ukraine I guess with democatic goverment of Poland it almost impossible, only if Poland woud for some reason be taken over by radical forcesd. Still I guess it would be interesting to play as Ukraine and try to overcome war on two fronts in the mod.
There shooud be another possibility: Cherno-Baltic Alliance, which would consist of Baltic States, Poland, Moldova. Ukraine and Finland with a possibility to join to this alliance Chech Republic, Hungary, Romania and prehaps Belorus.
I think the core issue about RUS annexing the Crimea in the first place, is that it ruined the "peace in Europe", that all the work since WW2 has achieved (EU, NATO etc). Since WW2 (generally) European countries have sought to bind together to maintain the peace and not fall back into inter-neighbourly wars. Generally this has worked.
But with RUS annexing Crimea and then UKR falling into war, it has really shattered the cosy, peace everywhere feeling and where brotherly nations were walking down the road holding hands, now they are again looking at eachother, with a view to falling back into historical bitterness and possibly future inter-neighbourly wars.
Certainly in the Balkans IMO, you have the "successful countries" those in the EU already. But what about those on the outside? Are these not Europeans too? Here is a great divide.
Visually, there is a big ceramic urn called "peace in europe" and Putin has shattered it on the floor.
If in the near future if ENG leaves the EU, the EU will shatter also, back maybe to the Core EU countries, while in the previous Warsaw Pact countries, if they are smart and lucky, they may form their own visegard pact or some form of Central_European EU among themselves. ...??
All the other stuff going on, migrants, isis, bank failures, even possibly new bank failures, only adds to the problems our leaders must face.
In my mind, this is the background of the Putin mod. From Crimea, to Ukraine, Putin has shattered his image in the West. No longer is Russia seen as a friend, now, he is, well if not an enemy, he is certainly not trusted any more.

This is only my opinion, and I'm not pushing any political agenda. It could happen, and of course it could not happen ever. But I have found it interesting to see how quickly you guys can tell me about what this or that country would do. It is like our civilisation is only a veneer, and we are all savages at heart.

So, of course UKRAINE could win its wars.
I think in the 21st century, no matter what war is happening, we must expect the World's Policeman to have a say in what the outcome will be. So will Obama sit and watch his UKR project fall apart if POL attacks and annexes part of UKR? What can he do about it?
I think the difference in the 21st century, is we have one super-powerful country that sees the whole world as its concern. So, any war will need to consider what the US will do. maybe?
So, your Cherno-Baltic alliance, could be this previous Warsaw Pact arrangement. But how friendly were the Warsaw Pact countries to eachother in the first place? Would outside threats cause them to bind together, maybe?
Surely a UKR victory against RUS would cause the collapse of Putin's regime and chaos in Russia. I mean the tables would be turned totally on Putin and Russia. Don't you think so?
EDIT: Isn't this why the US arranged to have the war in the first place? I mean, to get rid of Putin?
I mean, in the 21st century, wars don't happen spontaneously. Someone, some Powers have caused this to happen in the first place. I mean deliberately, to suit their own agenda.
