If I can get the agreement from other folks, I'm going to try to add MDS to the Grand Campaign mod (DH + AAR + NWO) , which includes the CWWT mod. This will mean helping out with other mods but I think it will be worth it if it can finally help to join up all the DH mods.

I feel like Walt Disney being taken out of the freezer right now. So, being too lazy to read an entire novel of posts, I'll take it slowly and ask two questions first:

1. Which are the differences between NMDS and the 'classic' one?
2. Why are countries that joined NATO in 2004 and later already in NATO at the start of the scenario?

You'll see when you look at the units, the unit pics.
You'll notice the lack of some stuff.
You may notice there is no lag at all, AFAIK?
and guys have said it is more like an alpha version than a beta.

As for nato, not me, don't know...

On a semi-related note, do you have any idea if 0.8 is the latest release of the E3 map? I feel like picking up where I left off when trying to adapt the modern borders to E3, but I want to know if I'm doing it on the right map.

Yeah, just checked mumia's thread and 0.8 is the latest that he mentions.

I actually haven't messed up with provinces in any way :)
I just corrected ministers and leaders (Slovakia) because Darkest Hour can't read č, š or ť so it made some awkward symbols, that's one thing you could fix, Czech ministers and leaders got the same problem... it kinda ruins the mod in an estetic way

I've got also some ideas for the mod:

Decision:
Allow Millitia (Domobrana in our language, Dom - house, Brana - Guard) thus allowing to create militia, it would have a very short build time.

Improvements:
- Albanian, Serbian, and others provinces have got only 20% Infrastructure... This should be fixed
- Slovakia has got MIG-29s, while in this mod they've got only MIG-25s...
- Add some more ministers and tech teams for Slovakia and other countries, since I can mod almost anything but this >.<
- There are some awkward governments in the mod like the Fascist, this shouldn't really be... I always play as National Socialist (I don't really take the Nazi ideology as a national socialism, because it isn't) but the fascism should be remvoed from the mod
- Make some events for Kosovo, Chechnya and decisions for these provinces
- While playing as small nations (I mostly play as Slovakia since I come from there), there aren't decisions. - make JOINING EU a Decision,
- Albania is NATO leader? fix thiiiiiiis
- Slovak-Hungary war or some kind of decisions would be great haha (but it's impossible since we're both in NATO.
- Israel attacks lebanon, syria attacks israel -> israel annexes both, US annexes IRAN without China and Russia interventing? No way.
- Make BRICS union, Iran is deciding to join them

That's all for now I wanted to point out, thanks for attention :)

Hey Novappady, not sure if I should post this here or in NWO thread, but considering your neat idea of combining NWO/CWTT with MDS, have you checked expanded tech tree of CWTT already? In first page there are really nice screenshots: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?689868-Cold-War-Tech-Tree-Expansion

Would such expansion towards modern day then simply require update of CWTT to further years? I can see they also have good range of diffrent doctrines, so you could add various 21st century American tactics to NATO doctrines branch while non-NATO allied nations with their own doctrines can keep developing Soviet and other techs? It would make more sense than having specific US doctrines like those in ''ARMY 2020'' tech tree department avalible for global use (so some of those could be moved to NATO doctrine branch while for non-NATO tactics would be upgraded on their own (altough even 1980s doctrines from CWTT look very advanced and useful for 21st century as well).

Considering other tech evolutions, then it would also make sense to keep INF/Infantry as it is as CWTT has such Infantry until 1989. Maybe you could only simulate their growing motorization by adding more wheeled vehicles (trucks) into unit stats while MOT/Motorized Infantry would use mix of trucks and APCs/IFVs while MECH would be fully mechanized with IFVs and some other (light) armor. So instead of messing with units themselves, realism could be represented in unit stats that show type and quantify of equipment they use. What do you think? Would Kretoxian allow such expansion of his TT?

I didn't do anything complicated, just played around with the .eug and also made sure the NATO event file does what it's supposed to. France is now leader of NATO. If you'd rather have other country as the head of it, just change the first tag in the list.

Yeah, I've already contacted Kretoxian and he has said Yes to using CWWT to join MDS to, with the overall aim of helping out in the Grand Campaign mod by ejwith9... sorry I cannot remember your tag off the top of my head...

So the overall aim is to join up with AAR-NWO-MDS and have a complete 1914 to 2030 game. But I've not heard back from the guy running the Grand Campaign thread. Hopefully he is still around?

Your eug file contains U59, which is Serbia-Montenegro, but Serbia and Montenegro are already in the game as separate countries. I think this needs to be removed.

Your link in the eug file to the events, is from the old version. The events are in another place now.

I see you've replaced U72 with FRA, I presume this is because FRA is the leader of nato. This is ok. Cheers

Is there any reason why HQs can't be produced at all in game? Also, a single transport plane unit seems to be able to load tens of para divisions, which I think is something worth looking into.

Is there any reason why HQs can't be produced at all in game? Also, a single transport plane unit seems to be able to load tens of para divisions, which I think is something worth looking into.

Well it looks like I didn't put them in... How did that happen??????

To encourage guys to start modding the game, I'm now reluctant to just post fixes as files. I think you should be encouraged to get into the files themselves and do your own fixes....

With this in mind: Here is the fix for the missing HQ problem:

Please go to the Mods/novapaddysMDS/db/techs folder and open up the file infantry_tech.txt using notepad++ or similar.
..... Go to line 2149.

Add this to the text:

command = { type = activate_unit_type which = hq }
command = { type = new_model which = hq value = 0 }

Save the file.

You will now have HQ's enabled and be able to build them.

Overall that part of the file will look like this when you are finished:

effects =
{ command = { type = activate_unit_type which = infantry }
command = { type = new_model which = infantry value = 0 }

command = { type = activate_unit_type which = engineer }
command = { type = new_model which = engineer value = 0 }

Hum no, it screwed the mod(The game crashing when starting a unsaved or saved game) and I had to remove it.

Yeah, sorry I forgot that it would break a game as you'd be including new parameters not there from the beginning.

So, to use this fix, you would need to start all over.
