I feel that it's important to accomplish something before moving on to the next. Especially ad I don't want to wait another year for completion. I recall that the deadline used to be Christmas 2009. Obviously that didn't happen. The MDS team keeps telling us they're so close to release, that to wait longer and buy another game just to play the mod is a dissapointment. Please stick to the original plan. Thank you.

Converting is rather easy, and I've already outlined the reason why. I already knew that some people were going to dislike this in the first place, so I'm not going to change my mind.

The reason for the slowness is that I'm working on developing a game. (No details yet - unfortunately)

I would like to congratulate you on this newest version of MDS2. I downloaded it recently, and after transferring the sprites I used in my Czar Putin AAR have been really enjoying it. Great work.

Some questions though on how I should play the mod. First, is it better to build brigades or full divisions? Divisions are far more expensive and powerful but Brigades are much cheaper and seem to be more common. Could I get by as a major power by building just land brigades or should I try to build lots of division sized units?

Also, how does the world economy system work? I have been playing as Russia, and freedomed to central planning, and found a huge improvement over free market. Is it better to go with central planning if you want to do lots of industrial and military expansion? It also seems that it is much harder to expand your IC and military forces over v1.5. I am guessing this is intentional?

First of, thank you!

Brigades/Divisions depend on you location and size. If you can cover the whole frontline with divisions - Go for it, as it have some advantages (can have attachments, and max limit for one transport is 1 - regardless of whether it is a brigade or division) If you have lot's of ground to cover with a limited sized army, Brigades are preferable.

Unfortunatly, we can't mod minister effects, some ministers decreases buildtime for mechanized divisions, but not brigades, which screw the balance up slightly.

The free marked option appears weak at first, since you get a lot less IC. But - you get higher growth from economic growth events, and the economic events will trigger more frequently, which brings up your IC efficiency over time. With IC efficiency, resource production rise the same as your IC. When you're building IC, it don't.

When you get to wartime, everyone will mobilize (moving the slider to planned economy, and full hawk) Usually, you will have a much larger IC efficiency then, than having planned economy from the start. - this translates into a larger effective IC also.

Buildtimes and cost is also lower with free marked, and corruption eradication programs are more likely to succeed. Not to mention upgrade costs...

The best economic strategy (unless you are aiming for a early full-scale war) is to go full free marked, and rather compensate by raising military spending a bit. (moving the slider towards hawk policy - this also lowers economic growth, but not THAT much) In this period, concentrate on upgrading existing units instead of building new ones. When war approaches, shift to building new units. As Russia, you can also sell resources to cover the supply cost.

Sorry man, the production AI is the most basic element in the AI scripting process. I don't have enough time to teach you the basics. If you want to start - then look at other AI files, and lots of them. Then you'll learn.

We are building on the europa engine - but I would like to point out that it will not be a revamped MDS. Hopefully I can tell you more later.

Anyway, I reinstalled DDA and patched to the latest beta, downloaded 1.6 and now when I'm applying the NTL patch, it says "version incompatible". Why?

You told me you didn't have them anymore when I asked you about them some months ago!

I had forgotten that I had put them on my laptop a long time ago, so I was able to recover them from there after I was doing some digging around in my laptop files recently. I was happy that I was able to find them.

Anyway, I have noticed some issues with the mod recently. When I loaded a Canada game I was playing recently, I noticed that all my unassigned military leaders had vanished, like they had been deleted or something. Also, it seems that sometimes the Iranian 2005 election event that brings in ahmadinejad doesnt fire. I had to fire it manually to get the Iranian events to begin again.
