The factory I worked at could have easily been building APC's. The vehicles we were building were very high tech, and heavy duty.Well, depends on what factories we're talkin about.
i think i have found a bug. I´m playing with iran and I need late cold war mbt to reasearch late cold war mbt. It is impossible ?!
What I tried to convey was that the state isn't supposed to build factories, thus it's very inefficient to do so with a free marked policy. It takes less than 180 days to build IC with full planned economy.

In reality that makes sense. However, in the game that is stupid unless the private sector is somehow modeled.
Economic growth events represent growth from the private sector. (increased IC efficiency)

With the second UK Argentina war, why is the USA forced to sit it out? With Bush in office, I could have some fun.

To make it 'fair' for Argentina. And last war was strictly UK-ARG.
You can only use nukes as weapons of last resort. So only if someone invades a significant portion your mainland can you use them. (activated via event) Or if another country you are at war with activates them in a similar fashion.

There are no plans for a HoI3 version, but another team of modders are free (and encouraged) to make one should there be enough interest.
In this game that's most likely to happen with Pakistan getting overrun by India, even with 12 US Div's there to bolster them I couldn't prevent PAK from getting overrun, and the nuke event fired...game over, was very boring after wards since I reduced RUS and CHC to no IC and no military after they threw nukes at US EC.

() I can now test again! As India Normal/Normal, I mostly was frustrated by the corruption events. Every time I reloaded the game that event fired and the one time out of nearly 8 I went with ignore...it got worst!?! Didn't get that since I ultimately ended up with 140/130 IC around 2007. Meanwhile, GJ with the USA! Got Baghdad before April, annexed Iraq April 18, and now has 490/460 IC! Ukraine Civil War started out nicely, both sides w/ roughly 8 divs, yet when I checked in on them 4 months later neither side had an army!?! So I'm guessing either have novo. get fewer units, or reduce both sides' AF's. Lastly, all the Stan's left the Shanghai Pact about a month after the events put them in it??? Russia, PRK are still in it though so it's basically the same problem I had with the original where the Stan's, Myanmar, and even Vietnam would abandon them...
I think something has to be done with AI to fix this problem. When Shaghai Pact formes and everyone who is invited accept, members are: Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgizia and Tajikistan. I experienced that Vietnam joins later via events, but I didn't play long enough to see if DPRK and Indonesia join the alliance.
As for leaving members, Tajikistan is worst case. I never experienced some other nation left SCO except Tajikistan. They just break alliance soon after they accept invitation.
Maybe little event chain can be made from this problem? Tajikistan joins SCO, but they leave due to American pressure(NATO supplies it's troops in Afghanistan from Tajikistan). SCO has event about rogue member and calls for intervention. You could chose few options, such as ''we don't need them'', ''this means war'' and ''launch convert operation''. This crisis would not be important enough to start war with West, but it would damage relations of SCO nations with USA, especially if SCO performs open intervention(war). If there is a war, Tajikistan is puppeted by China after anexed. Convert operation(some kind of coup or revolution) has 50% chance for success and Tajikistan is puppeted without the war. If SCO ignores situation, relations with West improve.
Western influence in Central Asia could be simulated with US military access in Tajikistan. When Tajikistan is couped/puppeted, military access is revoked(other option is to make higher partisan activity in Afganistan due to lack of supplies for NATO instead of messing with military access). I remember similar event chain like this was working well in 1.5. Story was about American airbase in Kyrgizia. I know this is maybe less important thing for team to do know, but modern day crisis are mostly done in this way. To reach global war, many smaller actions has to spark full scale conflict.

I've installed MDS on my new computer but the scenarios when saved do not appear in the saved game file. I can open the game and play it, but I cant edit scenarios because the files are not there. Where would else would they install to?
IIRC it's because you have to create yourself the "scenarios" folder, as the preinstaller doesn't copy it, methinks.
This FTW! Also, I just realized that sub ORG has gone down from the 80's to 5??? When I game-played under similar org levels in TNW mod, my Virginia class
subs got pwnd by the Iranian and Chinese Navy frigates, let alone SSGN's. This needs fixing otherwise there's no incentive to spend all this IC and time on something that will be sunk by any surface ship it makes contact with, when in reality it should probably be the other way around.
You should actually test this. I can't base changes on your assumptions.
I have tested naval combat with 5-10 Org subs, and it works well as far as I can tell.
When I try to play, I get stuck on the loading screen and have to ctrl alt del to get out. Any idea what's causing this?
Touche, it appears to work, when TNW scenario did it subs were even more useless than regular Hoi2. But reloading as USA in 2007 in my game, for some reason the AI is building hundreds of convoys??? I can understand the ships and to a certain extent the 3 armoured DIV's, and 5 B-2 squads it's making based on AI, but it already has about 1000 to start off. As for resolving why the Stan's et al. leave the SCO, could it just be a matter of making them have policy changes to match China's? When I did this cheat and made them all stalinist they didn't tend to leave the SCO as quickly in original MDS2
