Well, but the Bundesmarine deploys only frigates, corvettes and U-Boats (transports are probably needed as well), as far as I know. So you might wanna make sure, that they don'T build carriers or whatsoever.
Also I would make sure that they build tanks. IIRC the default setting usually builds infantry and that's it.
And what about the nuclear weapon research? It's not very likely to see Germany with "the bomb" in the near future. I don't know what the default AI usually does regarding that matter.
Well, I think you just have to observe what the AI is doing with Germany for one or two games. Then you know, if the default AI is sufficient or not. :)

It's the Deutsche Marine since 1990 again! ;)

There was a long time a go a proper building scheme for the German AI.
On Land Units it concentrate on Tanks, Mechanized Infantry and some more Motorised Forces and Paratroopers.
The Airforce build more Eurofighters (MR), Transportplanes and some Strike Fighters.
And the Navy concentrate on Destroyers (As Ships like the F124/F125 are named Frigates but in fact are DDs), some Frigates and Submarines.

You shouldn't forget that the MDS2 Buildscheme after the start of the scenario is just plausible not historical. Else German Forces have to shrink till WWIII and that would be boring...

Germany is one of the country which could have nuclear weapons in under one year, as an real nuclear German is somehow unrealistic in MDS2 should be the possibility. But you ae right it shouldn't the main ai effort to build such.

Is it possible to mod MDS 1.5 to accept the E3 map mod?

Possible? Yes. Daunting and time consuming task? Yes.



Also, regarding the 1.6 version; I'm working very hard to finish it. It should take 1-2 months depending on the bug situation.

At the moment I'm trying to integrate it with the latest armageddon beta patch, but I have not succeeded yet, as it crashes when loading the MDS scenario. I'll probably take it one step backwards and integrate it with Arma 1.2 for the time being...

I don't see how, everything has more provinces; even the backwaters of Africa

It could be a very good map for MDS if a lot of provinces in Europe was merged and redistributed to ME and Asia. Most of the combat is there in our mod, as opposed to Europe in HoI2. Remember that Iran is larger than France, UK, Germany and Spain combined. Congo is about the size of western Europe...


Anyhow, if you have the knowhow and dedication to transfer the E3 map to MDS, I'm sure that many would prefer that map. :)

I just tried to install the scenario. I followed instructions in the first post, but something is very wrong. I feel like when I use the "preinstaller" to copy files from DD, it just copies the folder structure and not the actual files. Anyone have any idea what is wrong?

I'm confident that you'll do a great job on it. The finished parts look very good. Just making some general points, y'a know. ;)

I also think it would be great if someone transfered it to MDS later. But I have no plans to do it myself.

Didn't notice your post until now.

We plan on doing the AI as easy as possible, with still trying to achieve some functional results. This is how we plan to structure the AI:

#Production AI:

Separate AI for USA, China, Russia, India, England, France, Japan and (maybe) Iran.

Other advanced countries will be assigned to a common production AI via AI-events, the same with landlocked countries. Others will use a default production AI. The starting production AI will remain the same throughout the entire game.

#Diplomatic and Intel AI may be a bit cumbersome to do, unless it is possible to assign closely aligned countries to the same AI. (might be a problem with when for instance Poland and Hungary both are mentioned as a country they should befriend when both countries use the same AI.)

#With combat and invasion AI a separate AI will be used for the main countries, which will have some switches for different campaigns in WW3.

For the European NATO allies, the same combat and invasion AI will apply to all countries, which will share the same defense priorities and strategy, save for some troops staying at in their respective countries as an safeguard for possible amphibious landings and such.

Countries who are not entering the war via the storyline events will not get any combat AI except for a default one.

That all sounds very good. The combat part should be the most time consuming though since you will have to build switches for every possible situation. I advice you to stick to the most important switches for now.
If you need any advice like "I told the AI to do that, here is the script, why doesn't it work ?", please let me know.

Good luck with v1.6, it is very promising.

Help me out with how you did that? I really want to play this mod, but as I explained above I can't get it to install and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Make a copy of your doomsday folder so you don't loose your vanilla install.

Delete folders: "AI", "DB", "Scenarios" and GFX/"Skins" (Not the main GFX-folder)

Use the installer to install to the doomsday folder.

Patch HoI2.exe with the no-time-limit patch. Create a "save games" folder inside the scenarios folder.
