If it is, thank you VERY much.

Yes, leaders are 'generals and admirals in the activ duty, march 2003' (without medical officers/chaplains). OOB is also modern.

If you want, I can give you specific names/locations and government.

Yes, this is what information we need, but we do need locations.

Also, this isn't Japan's real Modern Day OOB, right?

This is just an example?

This is Japans army organization, to clearify on what kind of info I have available to me.

To make the modern day OOB it requires that the unit list are completed.

As with the locations of an exact artillerybrigade, does it really matter that much. Are you guys trying to create an Hoi mod or Operational Art of War.

I don't know if you already know this site, the following site has modern and recent OOBs, deployements, plans, and weapons for various countries.

Hope this helps your mod :)

I agree with Damien, focus first on collecting data and modding, later you'll decide the actual scenario.

I don't suppose you noticed that I posted the exact same link just two posts above yours? Heh.

Well it’s been awhile since i posted here so I thought I would let you guys know what’s going on.
Sorry for being inactive but I recently got a new job anyway I have polished up the map a bit and have been messing around with ICs, infrastructure, and things like that. At first I thought the US would have too much power with over 1700 ICs but with its consumer goods requirements hiked up, as they are the actual IC use of America is on par with Western Europe. When America goes to war however its only limited by manpower so from my early observations the game should be far more balanced than we first thought.

I was thinking about the tech and starting with 1960s tech seems right. Now assuming that the levels of units are fixed (ex: prewar, basic, improved, advanced, Simi modern) that would allow 2-3 levels still to be developed in the First world.
That was not very clear so I'll give an example.
US Strategic bombers:
Prewar would be the B-52
Basic would be the B-1b
Improved would be B-2

Leaving 2 bombers, Advanced and Simi modern to be future bombers up for development.

Also to Martywolf,
I can edit oobs into HoI format so send me what need edited.

Ok we still need government ministers and oobs for most countries and more thought on the tech tree and soon events. If you can help with anything post what you got here. Also I need the new flag and shield for Afghanistan.

I like Martywolfs idea of having a coalition of the willing, axis of evil, rest of the world type situation as the 3 alliances. It allows for the most variety and changing alliances as situations develop. The game would start out sometime before the invasion of Iraq and would go from there events and the player/ AIs actions would decide the rest. I’m seeing war with China or the EU as not certain but having series of events that could lead to a major war. Some people don’t care much for events but I personally think they do wonders for the game and I like things like the CORE mod and EU2s EEP mod that add as many events as they can and I would like as many events as possible as and easy way to get things going. Any thoughts or questions?

:)

Good to see you back, Buke.

In reality, The U.S. has the production power and industrial capacity that equals the WHOLE western Europe.

In HoI, I think there can be more levels of bombers than just 5.
I think it allows up to as many types as you add.

If 5, we should have:
1) B-52 - Slow, Strong, Very Powerful
2) B1b Lancer - Fast, Ranged, Powerful
3) B2 Spirit - Medium-Speed, Almost Intercontinental Range, Semi-Powerful
4) B-3 Future Strike Aircraft (Real U.S. Concept, Didn't make this up)
5) A more Futuristic Bomber

I think we should add a healthy amount of futuristic weaponry, not TOO futuristic, but about a knowledgeable 20-40 years from now.

Events - A MUST NEED

I love the events. The more events, THE HELL OF A LOT BETTER THE GAME IS.

CORE, for example, has an awesome amount of events, and it is great.

Also, read the page before this one, Buke. A couple of guys posted some great OOB info, if you want to check it out.

Tac-Bombers

Also, about the first-world development.

The U.S. would start off with the first 3 levels, European Nations do not have Strat-Bombers, so they'll start off with 1 level. China starts off with 2 levels, and Russia starts off with 2 levels.

Most third-world nations start off with NO levels pre-researched, because most 3-W natinos do not possess Strat-Bombers or the knowledge to build them.

And for Tac-Bombers, The U.S. would have:

1) Vietnam-Era Aardvark Medium Tac-Bomber
2) F/A-18 Strike Hornet
3) A-10 Thunderbolt II Tank-Buster
4) F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (Tac-Assault) (Many Others natinos took part in JSF Research, so they also get this aircraft)
5) Hypersoar - A new, U.S. concept of supersonic high-altitude Tac-Bombing w/ Strat Capability (Concept DOES exist, I did NOT make this up)

Well, that's it for the U.S. Tac, I'll get working on Chinese and Russian Strats and Tacs.

In replace of Dive-Bombers, they'll will be Attack Helicopters/Stealth/VTOL Strikers

For The U.S., this could be:

1)AH-1 Cobra (EARLY ATTACK COPTER) (Still in use with the U.S.M.C.)
2)AV-8B Harrier (VTOL PLANE) (Stil in use, VTOL for Navy, perfect for Aircraft Carrier)
3)AH-64 Apache (ATTACK COPTER) (New U.S. Attack copter, very powerful)
4)F-117 Stealth Strike Fighter (STEALTH PLANE) (relatively weak, but fast and stealthed)
5)A futuristic attack copter (possibly the Comanche Stealth
R/A Helicopter)

Well, thats it for Dive-Bomber replacement. Next on to U.S. AS/ASW Planes.
