That's all well and good, but I've been play testing the MDS mod using HOI 1.2 and like several others in this forum, have been unable to restart saved games after the year 2017. What about that problem? Also, in a back post there was an issue about Windows files being removed when the MDS mod was removed from the person's hard drive. This is a very serious problem and it was never resolved, at least in this forum. Finally, the starting levels for all provincial infrastructure were EXACTLY the same as they were for HOI2, which begins in 1936. Will this be straightened out?samu said:Hi All !!!
So my first task is to make MDS 2 Doomsday compatible.
It's not as easy task as it seems, so it will take some(i have already started it in june, but most of my work was lost because of a computer failure).
And it will contain the nearly ready improvements of beta 1.1 (never released).
After that we can see in wich directions we'll go....

Okay. So I assume that no more work on this mod will be done for HOI 2, but will be done with DD in mind, correct?
.

It might be an idea to add an entry to the FAQ at your Modern Day Scenario Home site keeping people up to date with how Doomsday compatible the latest downloadable version is?
I only have the DD version of HOI2 and from what I'm reading it would be premature to install the present MDS2 version to DD. Is this right?
Also is Russia now out of the three alliances: the Coalition of the Willing; the Coalition of the Free and the Patriotic Reaction Alliance?
all the best with it,
Gordon Bennett

Bigh RI Joe said:Samu, I too am glad you're back. I found the MDS mod for HOI2 (I used version 1.2 unstead of 1.3a or 1.3b) to be superior in content to any other HOI mod I've ever played. Great work! I'm eagerly awaiting the mod for DD and would equally enjoy a possible patch to HOI2 1.2. Thanks again!

samu said:It is not yet DD compatible (it will not run). But i have a very good news for you : we will release a new version for Doomsday ( i hope it will be out next week ) with many improvements.
samu said:and yes, russia is not part of these alliances. but not for long...
Gordon Bennett said:Actually my last posting contained the assumption that originally "non-aligned" powers like Russia could be courted / led to formally join / leave the three major Alliance teams.
Is this possible within the HOI2 code?

TairosAurelius said:Will countries like Israel be playable now? In the previous version, they couldn't support themselves at all. Even Russia had serious problems, and I couldn't trade for enough supplies to keep up my military.
TairosAurelius said:And are the insurgency events multiple choice? It'd be cool if you have the choice to deal with the insurgents with varying degrees of harshness, with more ruthlessness meaning less insurgency, more manpower, worse foreign relations, and more dissent.
TairosAurelius said:Also, is the trading system fixed? Before, trading deals were extremely lopsided with even the best of friends. That was pretty irritating.
TairosAurelius said:An extra mobile AA model would be very helpful. It's a huge leap between model 1992 and model 2014, and against US airpower, brigaded ground units can use all the help the can get.
TairosAurelius said:At the moment, missile cruisers have only a 30 kilometer range, which still allows them to get owned by carriers. Shouldn't modern missile ships have a range comparable to carriers? Remember that carriers are basically the BB's of today; they should no longer rule the waves.
TairosAurelius said:Oh, and a Three Gorges Dam event for China would be very helpful, as its power shortage can be quite dire. And, as I mentioned earlier, a manpower overhaul is in order. Sorry for being impudent.
