I have noticed that there is very little moderating in these forums. Just wondering why. I rarely see a thread locked.

its a good forum for the most part everyone sticks to the rules. And the majority of assholes for lack of better words are mostly in the "halo" catagory.

Moderators rarely ever take more than a day to respond to something that shouldn't be happening, but then again rarely do things get out of hand... we're all history nerds anyway, what ever we would fight about is discussed in the OT and history forums

lol yea...theres none of those "console peasants" here. Its mainly the highly refined PC master race that inhabits these parts. We enjoy hoi2...victoria... spreadsheets and just about anything paradox feeds us.

Anyone who has played Diablo 2 in recent times will notice that the pre-game lobbies are populated by the very worst people in the god damned universe. People who's views make Hitler's and Mussolini's appear to be two very liberal kindly hearted philantropists.

These boards are very heavily moderated and has been so all the time I have been here.The reason you don't see that many mod posts is that the moderators and administrators are very quick in warning and banning unwanted elements on the forum (and do so in private with the violator). Most of the problems I see on boards are from newcomers. Most people on boards understand the rules and are fairly self-moderating. The biggest time of craziness I saw on here was when HoI2 was released and lots of newbs came onboard bitched about this and that and either left or were banned.

Our forums tranquility is undoubtedly helped by the fact that the topics that will require closing are so obvious just from looking at the title. Like the previous example, a thread entitled 'Could the Soviet Union have defeated Germany alone?' Just from that title, you can tell what kind of quality postings will be going on between people with American and Soviet flag avatars.
The quintessential real-life demonstartion is the closed EU3 thread 'Constantinople.' I saw it at three pages, and without clicking on it, knew its fate. And what do you know, soon enough it was closed. Now safe from being drawn in with my 'logic' and 'facts', I entered and bathed in the stupid.

I like these forums..
Best I ever seen. TWH forums are also good but it's nearly deserted.
Some while ago there was that discussion in OT that "Are geeks good boyfriends" and one fact is good here too, 'geeks' are well-behaving, unlike those no-life nerds who spend days in WoW forums.
P-Dox forums is full of well-behaving people, and intelligent (except me).
Those who cannot behave will likely be booted.

These forums are actually pretty strictly moderated from what I've seen, but as the userbase is mostly history buffs, and most aren't in their pre-teens any longer, need for moderating isn't that great.
