Modding troubles

What am I doing wrong? I have all the stuff put in (events, csv files, scenario files), but I am unable to reach the shields I put in the gfx folder.

I'm only using user define countries, but I guess it's a little modding trick I'd have to learn, no? Is there a command that reads the folder and displays the shields in the interface, in order to select a certain country?

You must have the same tags in all places, gfx-files, .inc-files, text-files, and so on. If you use User Defined country 01, then the flag must have the tag u01, and the same with shields and other stuff.

I have them all....inc files, text files, bmp files...I even compared the damn thing to Core files and there seems to be no difference...but there is, because I can't select my country....lack of shield

is there a special command, like flags { }, or anything like this? the shields are where they are supposed to be gfx/map/shields

Did you add the tag to a scenario file?

And did you create a .inc for the nation?

yes....basically, the thing looks like this

Config - models.csv / text.csv
Db - Events
- Leaders
- Ministers
- Tech
- Units
- province.csv/ country.csv/ randomleaders.csv / unitnames.csv
Scenarios - Data
- Save games
- Mod (which includes all the inc files)
- scenario eug file
Gfx - Map - Shields - various shields

There are paths to all of the inc files in the eug file

yes...actually I have only 4 of them, so just U01, U02, U03, U04

I could insert an extra nation, like Germany, and try it out!

ah is there no shilds so select a contry at the top then add

under the selectable

and so on

Alexandru I just did what your trying to do and it worked fine for me. I got the flags on the selectable screen. The game loaded and worked fine. However they did not appear in-game above units. Not sure what your doing wrong. You look like you should have everything.

Files:
In HOI main make folder named - mod-1984
In mod-1984 folder:
DB- events, leaders, ministers, tech, units, country, province, Random leaders, unitnames
GFX- interface- with basic menu, map - with flags and shields
Config- text
Scenario- 1984- files for Eastasia, Eurasia, Oceania, and slaves (You don't have these, perhaps you need them), save games, and 1984 Scenario.eug

NOTE: I beleive you may have been missing the files you need in 1984 folder?

Did you create a copy of your HOI shortcut and add the following line to it after the "C:\whatever\Hearts of Iron" mod-1984
?

Else then I don't know what the problem is.
