Just curious if modding is going to be supported by the developers at some point after release? (Perhaps with mod tools and/or a level editor/maker?)

A lot of the fun I had with Homeworld 2 even years after purchase was via modding the game, and enjoying some of the full conversion mods, (Star Wars, Star Trek, etc) the community produced. Since HW2 there hasn't really been a decent full 3D space rts that held the same quality and potential for modding. (There is Sins of a Solar Empire, but that's not really 3d)

Ancient Space is being built in Unity. To do any major modding you'd most likely need a proper license for it. The way the level assets are set up they weren't really made with modularity (to be re-used a lot) in consideration. It was one of the tradeoffs that had to be made for the levels to come out looking so good.

(That said, I'm sure someone out there is gonna have a go at modding it anyway, but it's not built into the DNA of the game.)
