@Havebeard - Thank you to you, Dan and the team for putting the modding streams on! Very helpful stuff. Like other, I would also like to see some more complex event and trigger chains. I do have a question in line with the stuff you've shown off so far. If you add new resources and weapons based on those resources into the game, and have them available to all countries, will the AI attempt to research and build those items (and trade for the resources if needed)? Or is there other coding one would have to mod?

Is it possible to create subunits for ships like for airplanes?

F.e adding a subunit of "Escort Destroyer" to the "Destroyer" Tech (with it's own fitting Profile of course:p)

No. This is going to be quite obvious when you start poking around the art folders when the game is released =)

I do have a question in line with the stuff you've shown off so far. If you add new resources and weapons based on those resources into the game, and have them available to all countries, will the AI attempt to research and build those items (and trade for the resources if needed)? Or is there other coding one would have to mod?
I would expect it to be somewhat able to handle it, but I would need our puppet master @SteelVolt to weigh in on this.

Subtechs should be doable. Requires some gui editing as well, so I'm not sure we will get into it before release. Requires a lot of prep work.

Short answer: yes! (As in, yes, it should work just fine, and the AI would trade etc if it needed the resource.)

If it does not work like that, I would consider that a bug.

Regarding flags... we know that all countries can have democratic, fascist and communist flags, but can there also be a separate non-aligned ideology flag, or does it just just the democratic flag? What is the 'default' flag style for each country?

It would be very useful if non-aligned and democratic could have separate flags rather than sharing the same; so for example a democratic Germany could have the modern flag, and a non-aligned Germany could have the imperial flag. This would be a great way - in both vanilla and mods - to differentiate between various autocratic monarchies and non-fascist dictatorships (non-aligned) and actual democracies and constitutional monarchies (democratic).

b) is the prep work in the gui files needed for us to mod it, but it works anyway at release??
On game release it should be no problem to mod it in.
It requires too much prep work for me to include it in the next stream.

Hopefully it's not too complicated. In Hoi3 I added a lot techs and new units to the game.
Most important things to know are which files are related and how to teach the AI to also use.

Maybe a Little bit copy and paste from the airforce tech ?:p
