Hey everyone and Paradox,
This might be a bit of a strange request, I am not sure how common such a requests are from modders to developers for other games but sitting around waiting for HOI4 is pretty annoying for someone who has spent the last couple of years modding the previous game in the lineup (Hearts of Iron 3).
I was wondering if it would be possible for Paradox to release some modding resources before the release of the game to allow modders who want to port their mods from HOI3 to HOI4 make the required adjustments instead of having to do them at game release.
Which resources I am talking about? I have a short list as well as screenshots where I marked elements that are probably going to be changed most by modders.
- Any PSD files used for various graphical interfaces that modders would be interested in changing.
(example: Ministers portraits, General Portraits, National focus graphics, tech tree graphics, country flags)
- List of modifiers, triggers and any other syntax codes modders will be able to use in the game. Perhaps an example of how events, country history files and leader files are placed in the game so that modders can begin to add their own already.
- List of fonts used in various sections of the game.
If it is not possible to deliver raw files as examples to be used as templates would it be possible at least to post the dimensions of each of these files as they are used in the game? That would be great help
Also, as far as modding... It would be nice if someone at Paradox could tell us which game the modding and build of the game elements are closest to? i.e is it like modding HOI3 or does the game has more in common with a game like EU4?
Thanks in advance, I know this is a bit of an odd request but hopefully Paradox can understand that porting large mods into a new game takes time and there are some pretty big mods for Hoi3 it would be a shame if people who liked them would have to wait for too long just because it was not possible to do the minor stuff (like graphics) until the game was released.
