Just asking in case there's a chance it's easy to work it into the code. If not planned for the base game, no need to worry about UI or anything like that (leave that to the modders), but if there was a way to enable equipment use for ships and air wings (the groups of aircraft we've seen on WWW), I know at least one potential modder who would be very happy about it.

For example, you could build 'ship component units', to require ship repair to need dockyard capacity (so combat reduces the number of ship component units, and the ship doesn't function properly again until they've been restocked - even better if we can make it that it won't restock unless in port - this would also enable being able to have fixed ship ammo stocks that only replenished back at port, which would make the Battle of the Atlantic more of a thing - no more perma-uboats).

Similarly, we could require things like radar equipment to be on a ship or air wing to have radar functionality.

And, of course, we could make ships and planes require fuel to operate.

Connected with this (and this may well be in the base game), as many ways to adjust the rate of equipment loss as possible would also be handy (for example, a base rate regardless of activity, a rate for moving (fuel/wear and tear), a rate for combat damage (damage), a rate for combat (ammo) and rates for bad weather).

It's not the end of the world if it isn't there, and I've got no idea how the engine handles its data under the hood, so if I'm asking for the equivalent of the introduction of pops to HoI, then apologies and ignore, but if there was any chance, I'd be very grateful.
