I have been a lurker for quite a long time in these forums but I have hit a severe problem while trying to localize a mod to french.
How do I make so that the text shows é (accents) instead of weirs A:s?
Edit: I know that this is a stupid question.
I don't understand the question. 'é' appears in the localization files over 36,000 times. As long as you have your editor set to read & write the files as Windows Latin-1 encoding, and you are able to type accented characters, there should be no issue.I have been a lurker for quite a long time in these forums but I have hit a severe problem while trying to localize a mod to french.

There was a mod which the launcher called 'Mediterranean Portraits Enhanced' or something along those lines, that did nothing but replace the graphic files for the med. portraits to be re-coloured versions of the basic european portrait.
Does anyone know what thread it came from, or atleast what it was called on the forum? As I can't currently find it.

My prefered mod for the med.
He did much more than changing colour though.
1050.1.1={
holder = 922
law = agnatic_succession
}
thank youAdd a line in the history file for the petty kingdom specifying the law, in a date block prior to the start of the mod.
Example from Lux Invicta:
Code:1050.1.1={ holder = 922 law = agnatic_succession }

Calc is a spreadsheet, not a great solution. I hear good things on here about Notepad++, but I have no direct experience as I'm on a Mac. People generally say to set it to load & save files as ANSI encoding, but as you are outside the US, that may give you strange results, because ANSI doesn't actually refer to a specific encoding. I just went thru a big argument on this topic a few days ago.Which editor do you recommmend? (Notepad++ or Libreoffice calc?)
