Ok question,Would it be possible to make a descion to allow you to make a cadet branch??

You could give a younger family member a different dynasty, but it would turn out badly if you need them to inherit--game over that is. The Duke of Burgundy in 1066 Robert the Old is a cadet of the House of Capet, but if Philippe I of France and his little brother die without any children of their own, Robert and his descendants will inherit but it will be game over for a human player. So until Paradox would implement this as a recognized feature that would recognize cadets as part of the parent dynasty I wouldn't try modding this in.

If I'm making duchies bigger and making previous duchies part of the new bigger duchy, how do I make the previous dukes the vassals of the newer bigger Duke?

(Im essentially changing Byzantine duchies to what was the different governing provinces in 235.)

I haven't had any luck with add_province_modifier. I had to create a startup event that adds the right modifiers to the right provinces. Take a look at apg's Strongholds mod for currently the best in province modifier modding.

Would it be possible to mod divorces so that if your religion has no head, you have personal divorce instead?

I am having issues with renaming duchies and I have no idea why it doesn't seem to work.

I go to text1 change the entry to this...
d_ascalon;Palaestina;Ascalon;Askalon;;Ascalón;;;;;;;;;x

Is there some change I'm missing out?

There is remove_spouse command.

I've seen that, and I could use it in an event. Would it be possible to change the option in the diplomatic menu? Currently, it appears that it is greyed out no matter what if your religion does not have a head.

That should do it. I noticed that you seem new to this, so make sure that your mod is pointing to the right mod folder. Otherwise you won't see any changes when you launch the game. I've made that mistake before. Multiple times.

Also, when you create localisation files from scratch, make sure that they are in *.csv format, not *.txt. Without more information, I can't really offer much help.

Yeah I am new, started my mod last night and I've got about half of the resketched duchies done so it's going alright :) But it is definitely saved as a csv. And Im still doing all the work in the main game files with saved files. And the resketched duchies are working right just not the renaming of them.

Yes that's what I tried and nothing shows up. I guess it's out of scope. I was hoping to be able to bypass the scripting *sigh*

Can someone talk me step by step through installing a mod as I have winrar so when it downloads a mod it goes there then I extract to mod folder but when I go to the fame to tick mod doesn't show up.

Im assuming your problem is...well basically.
Is your path like this
genericmodname-Open this folder and there is another folder called 'genericmodname' and an MPEG file. Well these are the things you extract to your mod folder.
So you download, for example, game of thones. You open the unzipped file and see one folder called game of thrones, you open that folder and see another folder called game of thrones alongside an MPEG file. You extract those to the mod folder.

Thanks I thought you only had to extract the file that said the mod name not the mpeg as well so thanks.
