I didn't change the number of provinces, it still remains one province, just the main part with an off shore island, like how the isle of wight is represented as part of Wessex.

I think that when I did this same thing for MOB, I just drew the color of the nearby sea province over the bit of land I wanted submerged. Probably not the proper way, but it did the job.

I just wanted to make the Isle of Thanet an island, off the coast, but still part of the province Kent, like the Isle of Wight is part of Wessex, or all those western Scottish Isles, so I altered each file exactly the same. rivers.bmp, terrain.bmp, provinces.bmp, topology.bmp, and the colormap.dds. Now when I try to start it crashes on calculating paths. Is there anything else that needs changing?

I'm pretty sure at least one of your files is not in the proper format (some are 24-bit, others 8-bit indexed, normal height is greyscale, etc.). Try removing them one by one and see if you find the offending file.
The map may look weird without all files edited, but it should not crash just because your land province is not at the right height etc..

I have always thought of this as the proper way. Slaxl, have you checked your graphics log? You may have drawn the island over the position of a nearby port, or army, or ship.

It seems to crash on adjacencies, according to the logs. No errors reporting, but it gets as far as adjacencies before stopping, which would make sense with a creating paths crash, I guess. I don't see why though, since there should be no extra adjacency needed in adjacencies.txt, just as there isn't for Wessex to the Isle of Wight, or the Isles around Scotland.

Interestingly I decided to try it on the vanilla map in case there was a problem with my new files, and it had exactly the same error. I've checked the bits with vanilla and other mods, they all match up, 8bit for some, 24bit for others.

I drew this map from scratch with some islands around, they work fine. It's just this one I'm adding in now, it's bizarre.

I'll try again tomorrow. I'm probably missing something obvious my tired brain refuses to see :) Thanks.

And I got another question...
What command can be used to move a character from his present location to another province, specifically, the province that another character is at. Some kind of command like "change_location" or anything like that?

It should be title_prefix, not titleprefix.You also seem to be missing a linebreak on the first line of localisation.
Well, the message being without a line break was a copy and paste mistake.The csv file is called britannia.csv and the path is Crusader Kings II>common>mod>(mod folder)>localisation>britannia.csv.

I'm trying to make a trait that makes you immune to incapable. Is there a better way than going trough all events that gives incapable and add a check for my trait?

I tried the abdicate decision posted few pages ago, but it's kind of useless because it always kills my ruler aswell. I pause the game, abdicate, heir succeeds and everything seems great. As soon as i unpause my old ruler is dead. If i wanted to just kill him i wouldn't need to have a decision for it, i could just open the console and type "kill xxxxxxxx". Is there a way to make him abdicate and also keep him alive?

Hi,
I found this piece of code in one of the cb_types files, specifying who can use a cb:
Code:
	ROOT = {
			OR = {
				ai = no
				AND = {
					NOT = { trait = charitable }
					NOT = { opinion = { who = FROM value = -25 } }
					OR = {
						trait = greedy
						trait = arbitrary
						trait = ambitious
						NOT = { opinion = { who = FROM value = 0 } }
					}
					OR = {
						trait = greedy
						NOT = { opinion = { who = FROM value = 25 } }
					}
				}
			}
		}

The thing is... I'm not sure I follow its logic.
Does it make sense to you? My lack of "code-reading" might be getting to me...

Makes perfect sense. ROOT is the aggressor, so this OR block allows:
-the player (ai = no)

OR this:
Non-charitable
Does not have -25 or higher opinion of the victim (FROM)
and one of the four:
either greedy, arbitrary, ambitious, or less than 0 opinion
and one of these:
either greedy or less than 25 opinion.

So the basic AI for who this matches is a greedy person with 24 or less opinion of his victim.

I got what I needed out of that. I didn't want them leaving their lovers in my court is what happened. I ended up making an event to send them to their lovers by forcing them to get married.

I found that same-sex marriages are possible too. I've created events that make this happen. Even possible to procreate with a same sex partner... among other things... Damn I'm kinky but I have a fantasy world where women are marrying women all over the place... I wonder if I can post these mods here. Kind of scared cause they do skirt 'adult rated' content.
