Alberich and Alberik are in the old_german and old_frisian cultures only. Are either or both of your reigning rulers of those names not of the old_ forms of the culture? If so, that is your problem, and you should (assuming these are historical characters) make them old_german/frisian, or (assuming these are generated characters, who are named for father/grandfather) add those names to the non-old_ cultures.

Is there any way to make characters' opinions change toward a different character based on their culture in a way different than simply "other culture group" or "other culture"? I can see options related to religions, but no culture.

For example: if I wanted to make Basque characters really hate Catalan characters, regardless of religion, is there a modifier I can use?

EDIT: I first looked at "culture_flex" but I'm not sure how it works. It looks sort of like it functions similarly to the tolerance technology. I'd rather it be a flat change than by percentage.

Is it possible to disable settling as feudal/tribal/merchant republic as a nomadic government? Sort of had an idea on how to get a decent Tribal Confederation working.

c_alexandria isn't a province, it's a title. Try c_alexandria = { location = { province_event = { id = xirsoi.2 days = 2 } } } though I don't know why you don't skip the province event and send the narrative event directly from the first one. Note: leading 0s in the numeric portion of a namespace event ID do nothing, and the game will actually complain about them.

c_alexandria isn't a province, it's a title. Try c_alexandria = { location = { province_event = { id = xirsoi.2 days = 2 } } } though I don't know why you don't skip the province event and send the narrative event directly from the first one. Note: leading 0s in the numeric portion of a namespace event ID do nothing, and the game will actually complain about them.

Because in the real event it'll be several years before the event fires, and the target could be dead by then.

Where does the game complain about them? I've been using them for over a year and never had issues. Besides, they aid in readability.

My mod worked yesterday.
Today I thought I'd try and add a whole new chunk of map.
I first copied my old map files and backed them up, then I used photoshop to expand the provinces.bmp and coloured that map black and white as a base to be used for the other map files. I switched these new files with the old files in my mods mapfolder.
Started the mod and it crashed. Error log said it was because I didn't add any technology values.
I copied the technology values from vanilla and put them in the empty technology history file; I replaced the vanilla duchy titles with titles from my mod.
Started the mod and again it crashed. This time however, the error log was completely empty.

So I deleted the contents of the technology file, and again put my old map files into the mods map folder.
Tried starting the 'old' mod, and got the same technology error as I got with the new map files included.
Again, filling out a technology file just makes for a crash with a completely empty error log.

What do I do now?
The game seems to be crashing at 'creating flags', but I don't think that has anything to do with it since I didn't add any new provinces in my new map files.

Missing a closing bracket on the second NOT line.

@Vulgaris: Lack of technology history will not cause a crash. Having titles referenced in history/technology that do not exist in landed_titles will cause a crash.

New question: How does one cause a pregnancy in a female character without a male character involved? (such as getting knocked up by some unlanded peasant)

"impregnate = 0" seems to just latch on to some random courtier.
