I'd like to get some help if I may on a few problems/questions I am unsure about in regards to modding HOI. Firstly and most annoyingly, how can I edit the text.csv file to allow my descriptions to enter the game? I tried adding the text (in what appeared the right method - CEVTDESC_xxxxx (I was editing the CORE file at the time)) to the bottom of the file, but it was ignored in game. I tried adding the text in the event itself, but it appears to be too long to work (I read that if the description is too long it wont work inside the event itself).

Next, I have read that if the you alter the savegame file you can change the details of the game. I need some help on a couple of issues here. Firstly if you change the end-date listed does the game play out until this date (ala a no time-limit mod) and importantly, can this be altered once a game has gotten underway? For example if I draw close to 1948 and want to continue playing, can I just alter the date and carry on? Can you include extra data (such as new countries etc) once a game is already underway or do you have to edit the files before the game begins? For example in a game I am playing with the USSR I have conquerd Germany and would like to create a new German nation as a buffer between me and the French (ala west and east Germany but with only the west as a seperate entity). To do this I'd need to edit the German country details to only give them the provinces I want them to have. Can this be done part way through a game?

Another issue I need clarification on is the possibility of altering the leaders of the in-game alliances (Axis-Allies-Commies). I know that you can change them in the relevant files, but can you do it again once a game is underway? For the same USSR game I want to edit, with Germany deteated (it is only 1938 still) I want to make Italy the head of the Axis faction. If this is done will Italy then be able to bring others into the axis or will the AI or something else hinder this from happening. I fear that it might be possible to place Italy as Axis leader in name only without the game acknowledging their new role.

If it any help I am playing CORE exclusively and wish to edit those files (and create a couple of CORE sub-campaigns of my own), but I don't think that the questions are neccessarily specific to that mod.

Thanks in advance!
