Hello!
This is the first time I've been tempted to do game modding by myself, but I was really fascinated by the depth of modability of CK2. As soon as I got the demo I started with swapping the character numbers (and all references to it) of the Navarran king and Michael Doukas to make the former playable. But the next day I had finished it and wanted to actually play as Navarra, the famous glitch was revealed :D

Then I decided to switch to something more useful. Inspired by "Lowland and Lotharingia" mod by Darrigan, I added a new creatable de jure empire of Francia (Middle Kingdom), encompassing Lotharingia, Burgundy and Italy. My intention was to have a set of events triggered by the (re-)creation of Middle Kingdom, most notable of them being the war between HRE and Francia over imperial transition.

As I've already said, this is my first venture into modding. I tried to read the script files and learn about all the commands and parameters I encountered. I have not yet fully understood how to use scopes like "PREV" or "FROMFROM", but, I believe, I will figure it out sooner or later :)

Anyway, I have figured out how to trigger a war between HRE and Francia almost immediately after the latter is claimed, but I stumbled over a proper casus belli. War over simple claim immediately ends inconclusively (I believe this is due to hardcoded limitation barring emperor from grabbing more kingdom and empire titles). Invasion is quite not what I want to achieve - moreover, I haven't tested it extensively, but I believe the victor won't be able to usurp the empire title either.

But actually, I don't want the title in question to be usurped, I want it dissolved! So, I tried to design my own casus belli. And here's what I'm asking assistance for.

I want to make a custom casus belli, used solely for the war between HRE and the other empire, wherein upon winning, the losing side is stripped of its empire title and vassalized by the victor. Also, the attacker should lose his empire title upon white peace. Is it ever possible?

My main problem is the "stripping of the title" part. I have tried "usurp" clause as well as "usurp plus baronies if unlanded" set to 0, in hope that "no character" inherits the imperial throne, but it simply doesn't happen. I have tried transferring vassalage of all imperial subjects to the kingdom of Germany, and then "set defacto liege" of Germany to 0, but still nothing happens - I think due to king of Germany and the emperor being the same person. I've had some truly bizarre ideas, like creating a character, giving him the imperial crown, transferring vassalage to Germany, taking Germany from HRE and then promptly killing the new emperor in hopes that no one will inherit. I haven't tested it yet, but I think it would make a horrible solution (not deserving to be called a "mod", frankly) even if it works. I even tried to use "abdicate to", but it just sets the new leader of religion :D

And so, I'm stuck. I have the feeling that I'm missing something trivial, like the one clause that will do what I want in a single line of code. Is there somewhere a reference on all clauses, or, perhaps, a guide on scripting? I would appreciate any help on that topic.

And the last thing I want to say that the game is great - it is incredibly well-balanced and captivating. But what I like the most is how the devs are friendly to the community, and how the community reciprocates. I am eager to be a part of the community, and I believe modding this great game would make a lot of fun (and hope that in my case it won't be the Dwarf Fortress kind of "fun" :) )

Cheers!
