Hello, I've been wanting to dabble in a portraitorial arts for some time, but I'm a little lost on where to start. I've seen the wiki guide, and have a grasp on the text file coding part of it, however...

I know some people have had luck (skill, ingenuity) using already rigged meshes to create new, animated portraits. I'm having trouble finding any solid information on the process for that. Is it simply a matter of painting over an existing texture, or does the .mesh file need to be examined?

TL;DR Whats the 'meta' as far as producing animated portraits?
