Hi, I have been wanting to add officers to countries that don't have enough.

Specifically, as Turkey after I conquer and annex Albania I have been wanting to grab Albania's officers and put them into Turkey.

However, every time I do it I must be making some kind of error because after pasting them into Turkey when I re-start game there are always zero units anywhere on the whole map.. I have somehow corrupted everything.

Anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

My approach was to edit the generals list _BEFORE_ I started the game.
I think every general has to have an individual database number (the first line of each entry)
so simple copy and paste wont work. You have to do some batch renumbering first.

My prefered tool for something like this is an editor like notepad++

and for historically accuracy I used this site:

http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Personenregister/Dienstgrade/Gliederung-R.htm

works for me like a charm.

What you can do is "borrow" commanders from countries that do not exist and are unlikely to come to life, irrelevant or that you intend to annex quickly (e.g. Albania) Just copy the commander list file from base folder into tfh (if there is none) and cut out all the commanders and paste them into the country file you want to use (e.g. TUR). The run replace all in said editor and replace all "ALB" with "TUR". Repeat with as many countries as you like (e.g. BUL, GRE). It is important to keep empty commander files of the "donor countries" int eh tfh folder to stop them from being assigned by potentially existing countries.
I'd highly recommend not to do this to majors, and I suspect you wanted to limit this to somewhat "semi-historical" countries anyway.
