So I am working on a mod and as part of it I need to add a custom ship model so I got to work with Maya and everything seemed fine when setting it up and exporting with no errors at all but once the exporter loaded and competed I noticed this issue in the game with the textures:

Any help in fixing this would be much appreciated.

I want to start Modding to, but for me i find its difficult to come in at stellaris. Which files do you Change ore setup to get this Deadalus? Maybe when i find a start then i can help you too :)

I think maybe the issue is that you need to have one single texture for this model. How many textures are you using? As far as I read you need to have one single texture for single model. So one uv layout and one specular and one bump and one color texture so in total 3 textures. You can not have multiple color textures for this model that front will use texture number 1 middle section will use rexture number 2 etc

I am using a single diffuse, normal and specular map exactly as the guide on the Wiki says to.

No . Have Deimos ready. But it is without textures annd UV maps just normal grey colour. And when I am trying to expoer it Maya will crash :( So now I am not sureif it isbcs I did not create UV maps and did not assing some colour texture to it. As I put just the basic Phong on it and nothing more. Wnated to test it.
