I'm playing the Carolingian Mod as a norse_pagan England. The Norse pagan religion is in its own group all by itself in this mod. I wanted to spice up the religion a bit and got the idea of adding a religion leader who would have goðis (priests) under his or her control and own the county of Oppland in Sweden (because it has some relevance in the religion) like pope owns the Papal states. I did the following things to the Carolingian mod files(leaving back-ups of the original files)

  1. Put this block in landed_titles.txt
    Code:
    e_norse_pagan = {
    color={ 79 128 20 }
    color2={ 209 69 8 }
    capital = 290 # Uppland
    title = "ASGODI"
    foa = "ASGODI_FOA"
    short_name = yes
    landless = yes
    religion= norse_pagan
    # Controls a religion
    controls_religion = norse_pagan}
  2. Added these to the localization files:
    Code:
    e_norse_pagan	The Allsherjargoði	x
    e_norse_pagan_adj	Allsherjargoði	x
    Code:
    ASGODI	Allsherjargoði	x
    ASGODI_FOA	Image of Odin	x
  3. In my save file, I found the county of Uppland and changed all references to it to be to the e_norse_pagan, the Allsherjargoði. Therefore, the countess of Uppland was now the Allsherjargoði.

I got somewhere with this; if I open the religion tab, the Allsherjargoði is there. Here realm also has the right name and color. I now have two problems, a small one and a big one:
  1. The Allsherjargoði owns all her provinces except the most important one, Uppland. It's empty (no character) I'm guessing that's because I deleted every reference to it from the save file :eek:o I don't think it'll be too hard to fix this.
  2. Bad problem: she does nothing. I would like for the Allsherjargoði to be able to excommunicate and to have vassal bishops (goðis). I passed the vassalage of a few goðidoms to her but she just owns them "feudally" not "clerically".

So this is my question. What can I do to resolve the second problem, and also, what kind of things can I do to make the religious leader more interesting? Thanks a lot for reading and for any input.

For my own minimod to play a small mongol horde from 1066, I made similar thing for tengri religion. First you need to change stuff from religions.txt, and set it that norse_pagan religion can excommunicate or grant divorce and stuff. If you want your religion leader to be able to call crusades, it get's a bit more complicated. If I remember correctly, you need to make your own crusade event (just copy the current crusade event and change it for pagans), and add it's new id to on_actions trigger event that calls crusades. Also you need to modify current decision to call crusades, that your pagan leader makes that decision every now and then. Like if any other religiongroup except pagan owns provinces somewhere in scandinavia or great britain call crusade to libarate that province. That was fun game :)
