Hello all,

I have characters of mixed race who take after their mother's ethnicity but belong to their father's culture. Father marries a foreign princess, kids look like her, but of course when I program them in history/characters I have to give them their mother's culture to make them look right, even though they're at their father's court and have been raised with his culture.
My question is HOW can I enter in both acquired culture and graphical culture so that those can both be different things?

I've combed the web for the answer to this a handful of times and have only found commands to do it in-game and some ideas for in history/characters that have not worked. Which is amazing, it's a very simple thing.

Perhaps I could put in an event as a last ditch attempt where on_birth or shortly after, they become a culture? Would that work?

I checked what HIP does with Saladin, because I know his starting graphical culture matches his ancestry instead of his in-game culture. Their solution is to initialize the character in history/characters with the culture set to the desired graphical culture. Then they chose a date at which his culture becomes the desired non-graphical culture. As long as you set that date before the starting date you want to use, that should work.

Thanks! I wanted to test an example but couldn't think who to look at. Like i said, I think that's the route I'll have to take.

The race key 100% does not work, I've tried
I suspected it might not, that's why I gave the other suggestion.

In vanilla they do the same with Bayajidda (born Levantine, flips to Hausa).

I wonder if it would even work to have the culture flipping happen immediately on birth.
