You can see on this screen my building mod and I added a smoke FX, but this particles system is played continuously.
How to control the particles systems when colonists working (or not) in the building ? With a JS script ?

For the construction brush, you can define a separate prefab in the BuildingTemplate that doesn't contain the particle effects, that would remove the smoke from that specific case in the image. For the next version we will add support for modding building Work State visuals, this will allow showing particle effects, animation etc only during certain states of the building.
